A man took a selfie of himself being arrested in Iowa.
Police said that the man of Iowa City, took photos of himself after being arrested for drunken driving early Sunday morning.
26-year-old James Jay Dunham of 116 Friendship Street, was stopped by police at the intersection of Iowa Avenue and Gilbert Street.
He was arrested after police discovered that he was intoxicated. Dunham was arrested for drunken driving about 2:00 a.m.
According to a police report, Dunham took a selfie while in police custody and told an officer that he “just wanted his family to know that he was alright.”
According to police, Dunham, whose blood alcohol contained was at 0.084, was reportedly wearing wrist bands from three different bars, had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and an unsteady balance.
Dunham allegedly admitted to drinking and was charged with driving under the influence. In his mugshot, Dunham was seen smiling.
