(Scroll down for video) A man felt betrayed after spotting a real estate agent in a purple-suit stealing food from his home.
The real estate agent who is known only as George, was fired by his employers after being caught on video sliding a chocolate bar into his pocket in the rented apartment in Walthamstow, London, on Friday.
The tenant, Jon Charter, 42, had set up a security camera and was testing it before using it in his new home.
While checking the surveillance video, he was shocked to discover the theft, which occurred while the agent was showing prospective clients the property.
“I could not believe what I was seeing. I know it’s just a bar of chocolate, but it’s the principle. It breaks all the trust and it is outrageous,” Charter said.
Charter said that the real estate agent admitted to the theft and said that he was “ashamed and embarrassed.”
The real estate agent said that he was feeling sick and needed sugar. He also asked Charter not to call his boss.
According to the tenant, George wrote him an apology which read: “I was not feeling well and I desperately needed sugar. I saw the chocolate bar and I took it. I know that it is not an excuse and at the end of the day, it was not mine and I was stealing. I’m sorry and I know how serious it is. Please do not take it any further. My apologies.”
Charter decided to inform his boss at “Your Move,” and George was fired immediately.
