A man was arrested and charged with murder after he stabbed a Jewish father because he wanted to kill a Jew, according to court proceedings in the United Kingdom.
Manchester Police said that the man who stabbed an innocent violinist to death, had been released from a mental hospital just days before the attack.
Michael Kahan, 39, was on his way to buy bagels for breakfast when he was stabbed twice by Jonathan Mills.
Mills, 37, had been released ten days before from Park House of North Manchester General Hospital.
He told police that he carried out the attack because he felt that he "had to kill a Jew."
The killer’s own father said that he doesn’t know why his son was released from the mental hospital.
Hospital officials said that they felt he was well enough to return home.
Mills has a long history of mental illness.
