A Jewish teacher was brutally beaten by a group of Muslim men in an unprovoked attack, police in France said.
Paris Police said that the Jewish teacher was savagely beaten while the attackers were shouting ‘Death to the Jews” and “dirty Jews.”
As a result of the beating, the victim, identified as K. Richard, suffered from a broken nose. The attackers also drew a swastika on his chest after ripping off his shirt.
The victim told police that the men had cursed him in Arabic and French, and the suspects seemed to have been of North African descent. According to the initial police investigation, the victim was ambushed after leaving a kosher restaurant while wearing a religious skull cap.
Police said that they are looking to arrest the attackers. Last February, two young Jews were attacked, one in Marseille and another at the same school of Toulouse, where a gunman killed a Jewish rabbi and three children in March 2012.
A young man with a Star of David pendant was assaulted outside the main railway station of Marseille Gare Saint-Charles, by a group of men who approached him on a motorcycle, shouting anti-Semitic slurs against him. They beat him, stole his MP3 player and 100 euros. They pulled the medallion from his neck and fled the scene. Police have made no arrests in that case.
Meanwhile, at the school entrance of Or Torah in Toulouse, which was renamed from Otzar Hatorah after the shooting, a student who was leaving school wearing a yarmulke, was approached by a woman brandishing a knife. School guards immediately arrested the woman and she was subsequently sent to a psychiatric detention center.
She did not reveal the reason for trying to attack the student.
