6 Jerusalem Muslim lawyers arrested for helping terrorists

Six Muslim lawyers were arrested after being suspected of funding terror groups, Israel Police said.

Jerusalem Police said that detectives and investigators in recent weeks arrested six lawyers of East Jerusalem.

The suspects, five men and a woman, are accused of transferring cash and messages during the last three years, to Hamas and Islamic Jihad prisoners, both in Israel and abroad, in exchange for cash. According to the police investigation, a law firm called Al Quds, paid lawyers between 500 to 700 shekels ($150 to $200) to transfer information and cash, while claiming attorney client privilege to avoid detection.

Midhat Issawi, 41, and Shirin Issawi, 36, ran the law firm, which paid lawyers to visit terrorists in their prison cells. The six will be charged with involvement in terrorist activities, prohibited financing activities for terrorist purposes, illegal contact with offenders and contact with foreign agents.

France to feed pork to Jewish children at public schools

(Scroll down for video) A senior politician in France, has said that public schools will stop offering non-pork alternatives to Jewish children at public schools.

Far-right National Front leader Marine Le Pen said on Friday, that she would prevent schools from offering alternatives to pork at least in the 11 municipalities where her party won in local elections.

She claimed that offering non-pork alternatives were contrary to the secular values ​​of France. The Republic of France has a strict secular tradition required by law, but the faith-related demands have increased in recent years, especially from the five million Muslims in the country.

“We will not accept any religious demands on school menus,” Le Pen said. “There is no reason for religion to enter the public sphere, that is the law,” she added.
Pork is forbidden by Jewish and Muslim dietary laws.

Several mayors have complained that there are too many halal stores in their cities. The National Front party gained control of 11 municipalities and one district in the port city of Marseille, in elections on Sunday.

Le Pen said that the victory is a sign that the party had finally established itself as a political force.

Teenage prostitute kills client after he tried leaving without paying

(Scroll down for video) A man is dead and a teenage prostitute was charged with his murder.

According to police, the 19-year-old Florida woman, allegedly went to a local park where she had arranged to meet Brandon Day, 22, for sex.

Andrea Alvira of Lake Worth, went to the community clubhouse in the Rivermill development, where Alvira provided the sexual services.

When they were done, Day left the place to allegedly get the money to pay the teen. However, she did not want to let him go without paying.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, Alvira hit Day in the neck with an object and threw him to the ground. She then sat ontop of him while calling her boyfriend.

Witnesses called police, and when they arrived, the teen told them that Day raped her and therefore, she held him down. Detectives said there was no evidence to support her accusations against Day.

Instead, detectives determined that Alvira and Day had arranged to meet for sex.

Investigator found cellphone text messages, which showed that Alvira and Day had arranged the meeting.

Alvira was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

3-year-old boy wows judges and crowd with adorable dance moves

(Scroll down for video) A charming young boy brought laughs and cheers to three judges and the crowd with his adorable performance.

3-year-old Zhang Junhao of Shandong province, China, who loves to dance, walked up on stage confidently and with big speakers.

He asked one of the judges to handle the remote control for him as he danced. The child danced to a number of songs and everyone loved his act.

When the judge changed the song during his performance the child was not fazed. He just moved on to the next dance.

At 4:22 in the video below, the 3-year-old boy is seen doing a robot dance like a pro.

Junhao’s performance was part of the TV show called Amazing Chinese, which is like the U.S. version of America's Got Talent.

The child explained that he loved to dance because he likes to make people happy. His mother explained that her son danced since he was 10 months old.

Man shoots his wife then claims he mistook her for intruder

(Scroll down for video) A woman is lucky to be alive after her husband shot her in the stomach, claiming that he thought she was a robber.

The woman had returned home from church and was entering her house when her husband shot at her.

Oscar Pistorius told investigators that he mistook his wife for a burglar when he shot her.

Palesa Monnane, 28, of South Africa, told authorities that she came home from church on Saturday, and opened the door to her home when she was suddenly shot from inside the house.

She was hit in the hand and stomach. Monnane said that she screamed and called her husband, asking what he was doing.

He claims that it was only after his wife began screaming that he realized that it was not a burglar.

When investigators arrived at their home in Mangaung, the husband had already covered the bullet hole in the door with silicone.

Monnane was taken to a hospital for treatment and the husband was arrested and charged with attempted murder.

Woman, 63, legally adopted by man with dementia so she can inherit his apartment

(Scroll down for video) A 63-year-old woman asked an elderly man to adopt her as his daughter so she can legally inherit his apartment.

While most people call it a scam, the woman said it was done legally and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

Pamela Becker, 63, of New York, found an ingenious way to get herself a rent controlled apartment. Becker, who now calls herself Maria DeTommaso, was legally adopted by an older man with dementia, just weeks before he died.

Now, as she is legally the man’s daughter, Becker will inherit Nicholas DeTommaso’s $100 a month, two bedrooms rent-controlled apartment in a popular neighborhood of Long Island City, Queens.

After the man died at age 85, the couple who owns the apartment, took Becker to the Queens Housing Court and they want her to get out of the apartment.

However, Becker said that she has full legal rights to the apartment. The average price for a two-bedroom apartment in the neighborhood is about $3,000.

Teen gets stuck in drain while trying to retrieve her cellphone

The 16-year-old girl was left red-faced when rescue workers had to be called to take her out of the drain.

Ella Birchenough was chatting with a friend, and when she was done and wanted to put her cellphone into her pocket it fell into a drain.

The teen girl decided to go into the drain to retrieve the phone, but she got stuck and was unable to go up or down.

Neighbors in Dover, England, who saw the girl in distress, called firefighters to help her get out. Some neighbors took pictures of the girl in the drain and of the rescue mission.

Firefighters finally got the girl out along with her cellphone. However, the phone was cracked and broken.

Restaurant owner shocked after man pays his bill 70 years late

A restaurant owner said he was shocked when a man decided to pay for his meal 70 years late.

The Salt Lake City, Utah, restaurant received the payment this week.

It all started when a woman entered Lamb’s Grill, which is located on Main Street.

Waitress Jasmine Back said that the woman looked like she was on a mission. Back approached the woman, who then explained that her father had committed a crime many years ago.

“In 1941, my father was 10 years old, when he and his friend ate her. However, they both fled when they realized they could not pay the bill. It was only a dollar,” the woman said.

Then the woman gave her a $5 bill as an apology from the man who was apparently being tormented by guilt for decades. The current owner of the restaurant, Francis Liong, said that the five dollars does not belong to him. It belongs to the previous owners.

Liong wants the man to know that all is forgiven. He is welcomed to come back.

Principal sentenced to death for deliberately poisoning kindergarten students

A principal was sentenced to death after he poisoned kindergarten students, causing them to die.

It is hard to imagine that a person would want to harm young children especially if the person is a school principal.

The incident began when the school principal in Pingshan, Hebei province, in China, was jealous that a rival school had more students than his school, and the other school was constantly growing.

The principal decided to harm the children in the other school and potentially scare parents away from that school.

He placed rat poison into a bottle of yogurt. He then asked his accomplice to place the yogurt, a notebook and a pencil in a plastic bag, and hand it to children from the rival school.

Two sisters from the kindergarten took the yogurt from the man. However, after they ate the yogurt both sisters died.

The Shijiazhuang Court in northern China, found the principal and his accomplice guilty of poisoning the innocent children, and they were both sentenced to death.

Mother gets 20 years prison after baby dies from drug overdose in breast milk

(Scroll down for video) In a very bizarre incident, a newborn baby died from a drug overdose after breastfeeding.

The baby’s mother was taking pills, which was transferred to the newborn baby while she was breastfed.

Now, the mother, Stephanie Greene, 39, of South Carolina, has been found guilty of homicide by child abuse.

Prosecutors said that Greene, who was a nurse, knew the dangers of taking painkillers while pregnant and breast feeding.

However, she chose not tell her doctors that she was pregnant so that they would continue prescribing her pain pills after being involved in a car accident.

The baby, Alexis Catherine Greene, was born healthy and was breastfed. When the baby was 46 days old, her mother found her unconscious. Greene called 911 and she sounded disoriented.

The baby was pronounced dead. A toxicology test found a high level of morphine in the child.

Greene's husband of 10 years did not want to speak with reporters. However, his wife’s lawyer, Rauch Wise, said that the husband supported his wife and that he was devastated with the sentence as he is preparing to raise their 7-year-old alone.

Greene also has two children from a previous marriage.
She will have to serve 16 years before she is eligible for parole.

Father and his friend arrested for dragging boy with leash before tying him to tree

(Scroll down for video) Two men were arrested for dragging a young boy across a busy road and tying him to a tree.

The father and his friend were charged after allegedly dragging the 4-year-old boy through a street with a leash and tying him to a tree so they can smoke drugs.

Horrified witnesses called police, who found the boy's father, Richard Marsh, 29 , and Paul Rapp, 35, both of Salt Lake City, Utah, with drugs. They were arrested and charged with child abuse and drug possession.

Witness told police that while the boy was on the leash he fell to the ground and the men continued dragging him on the floor.

The child suffered minor injuries, including road rash after being dragged on the floor. The child is now in the care of his mother.

The child’s uncle admitted that this was not the first time his brother chained the child to a tree. He did so on a fishing trip to keep him out of trouble.

Man intentionally poops on children’s slides at public parks

Police are looking to arrest and charge a man after being accused of intentionally pooping on children's slides at public parks, police in Michigan said.

Over the last six months, the man has been defecating on slides at the Ypsilanti Prospect Park.

Ypsilanti Police and city officials found feces on the slides and police have installed hidden cameras to try to record the suspect in the act. Local politicians described the incident as odd and deliberate.

Department of Public Works employees check the slides every day and have been cleaning the human waste. City officials have encouraged staff and residents to contact them whenever feces is discovered so they will be able to determine if there is a pattern.

“We hope to be able to capture the suspect before the start of the summer season when children use the park,” the city said in a statement.

Doctor jailed after ordering gang to chop off her fiance’s penis because he dumped her

(Scroll down for video) A woman is behind bars after hiring a gang to chop off her fiance’s penis because he dumped her just three days before their wedding was scheduled to take, police in Brazil said.

The doctor has been jailed for six years after ordering the attack on her fiance.

Myriam Priscilla Castro, 34, of Juiz de Fora, was accused of ordering the gruesome attack on Wendel Souza. With the help of her father, she hired three men to kidnap Souza and they used a knife to slice his penis.

His house was also torched and his car was wrecked. Souza's brother, who was with him at the time of the attack, fainted after witnessing the brutal scene.

Castro initially fled from the authorities, but she was later apprehended. A defense attorney claimed that Castro maintains her innocence, and she will appeal the conviction and sentence.

Homeless man gets $37,000 cash from broken bank ATM

(Scroll down for video) A homeless man received a nice surprise after a broken bank ATM dispensed $37,000 in cash.

Lieutenant Todd Bernard of the South Portland Police Department, said on Friday morning, that officers were first called to the malfunctioning ATM at a TD Bank branch at 1:00 a.m. on Thursday.

“We first got a call that a homeless man was sleeping in the bank lobby. Then about 5:30 a.m., we got another call that he is taking an unusually long time at the ATM,” Bernard said.

When police arrived, they found the man with a shopping bag filled with cash from the ATM. Police say that he had more than $37,000 in cash in the bag when they arrived.

Bernard said that the man had an ATM card and about $100 in his account. He was using the cash advance function on the machine and repeatedly withdrew $700.

The officers returned the money to the bank. The ATM is out of service and is being reviewed to determine why it did not work.

(Scroll down for video) A young woman got a nasty birthday surprise as her hair caught fire while blowing out her birthday cake candles, a video uploaded to YouTube showed.

In the video, the woman’s friends are heard singing “Happy Birthday” in French, as the birthday girl made her grand entrance.

However, as the woman was making herself comfortable on a chair and preparing to make her birthday wish by blowing out the birthday cake candles, her hair suddenly exploded in a ball of fire.

The woman’s friends are heard screaming in the background, but luckily, the fire quickly went out on its own. One friend said that the birthday girl took the whole incident like a champ.

In November, a popular actor in Norway, decided to celebrate his birthday by publicly burning his beard, according to video uploaded to the Internet. Aksel Hennie celebrated his 38th birthday by decorating his beard with candles, set them on fire and singing a special birthday song, as the flames danced around his mouth and the wax ran down his face.

Hennie, Norway's top male actor, is set to play the Greek hero Tydeus, in the upcoming movie of Hercules, the Thracian Wars, with the U.S. wrestler turned actor Dwayne Johnson, and British actors Joseph Fiennes and John Hurt.

(Scroll down for video) A cute cat was seen on video unrolling a roll of toilet paper.

However, when it realized that its owner was angry with the mess, the cat quickly rolled the toilet paper roll back, a video uploaded to YouTube showed.

The owner of the cat, Michael Thompson, recorded his kitten named Willie, obsessively unraveling the roll of toilet paper before rolling it back. The video clip, titled “Willie is better than your cat,” has been uploaded to YouTube, where it quickly went viral.

The video clip racked up 1 million views in just a few days. Most YouTube viewers enjoyed the video clip with user sonicxrandomness saying that the cat wanted to make sure that the toilet paper roll really had 1,000 sheets.

However, one YouTube viewer was not so amused. Brigadierburnsauce wrote: “Is Willie ‘better’ than my cats Frank and Grimmy? I don't particularly think so. I prefer my cats as they don't make unnecessary messes like this or flay my toilet paper. Cute video, minus the dumb condescending title.”

Pastor arrested after giving false prophecies

A pastor was arrested and charged with fraud after swindling money from his unsuspecting followers by giving them false prophecies, police in Nigeria said.

Ezie Alfonso, 56, of the Celestial Church of Christ, which is located in Lagos, has been jailed after telling church members that God will make them rich.

The prophet told members that he had a vision from God that they should travel to Holland. He promised those who travel to Holland, that they will return rich and successful.

He ordered his followers to apply for passports and visas. About 16 excited members believed the prophecy, and paid an accomplice thousands of dollars in legal fees.

However, the church members realized that they have been cheated after waiting for months to receive their passports and visas. When the church members confronted the pastor he told them that his accomplice fled from the country along with their money.

Police said that so far, four people have been arrested for being involved in the scam.

Father jailed after tying his daughter to tree and raping her

A father is behind bars after sexually assaulting his own daughter for more than 10 years, prosecutors in Ireland said.

The 48-year-old man of Kildare, has been sentenced to 12 years in jail for raping and abusing his daughter.

A local detective said that during the investigation he uncovered that the father raped his daughter since she was three years old. In one incident, when the girl was aged about 12 years old, she was tied to a tree with rope and raped.

On another occasion, the father gave the girl a chocolate bar before taking her to a forest where he raped her. The man, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the victim, pleaded not guilty at the Central Criminal Court, to 18 counts of sexual assault, one count of oral rape and attempted rape. Prosecutors said that the abuse took place over 10 years.

The girl told investigators how she could never call her father “Dad” again. She said that she always feels shame, pain, anger, depression and fear.

The man’s defense attorney claimed that his client had a disturbing background. The lawyer told the judge that his client had been abused and perhaps that could explain his behavior.

The judge sentenced the man to 12 years in prison and an additional three year suspended prison sentence.
