(Scroll down for video) A Missouri mayor who said that he agreed with some of the views of the Jewish center killer, was forced to resign.
Dan Clevenger, the mayor of Marionville, home of accused triple murderer and white supremacist Glenn Miller, said on Monday that he would step down amid a growing scandal about his own history of anti-Semitic remarks.
Clevenger announced at a special meeting that he would resign as council members voted 4 to 1 to begin impeachment proceedings against him. Clevenger called Glenn Miller a friend several years ago.
“The medical industry that is run by Jews has succeeded in destroying the labor force of the United State,” Clevenger said. “The futures market, the Federal Reserve, the Food and Drug Administration and the National Institutes of Health, are run by Jews,” Clevenger also said.
Last week, three people were killed after an elderly white supremacist went on a shooting spree at a Jewish center, police in Kansas said. The suspect yelled Heil Hitler after he was arrested in connection with the shooting deaths of the three victims.
A 14-year-old boy and his grandfather died outside the Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City. They were apparently in a car. A woman was killed after a few minutes in the parking lot at Village Shalom, an assisted living facility.
The suspect shot at two other people, but the bullets did not hit them, Overland Park Police said. A dozen or more shots may have been fired based on the evidence at the scene.
The victims apparently did not know their murderer. Frazier Glenn Cross, 73, was arrested at 1:28 p.m. He was charged with premeditated first degree murder.
Cross, also known as Glenn Miller, is a known white supremacist and anti-Semite. He is a former leader of a Ku Klux Klan group.
The 14-year-old boy was identified as Reat Underwood. He was a freshman at Blue Valley High School. His grandfather was identified as Dr. William Lewis Corporon.
The boy and his grandfather are practicing Christians. Reat was rushed to Overland Park Regional Medical Center for surgery, but died of his wounds.
