(Scroll down for video) Magen David Adom Israel has offered to help Turkey with the rescue effort of hundreds of injured miners.

On Wednesday, a mine explosion killed at least 238 and left more than 200 trapped.

Magen David Adom reached out, offering help in the rescue and the treatment of those injured in the mine.

A spokesperson for Magen David Adom said that the organization is willing to provide labor, equipment and medical knowledge that could greatly increase the chances of saving lives and end the crisis.

787 people were inside the coal mine in Soma, about 250 kilometers (155 miles) south of Istanbul, at the time of the explosion.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared three days of national mourning and ordered flags to be lowered to half-mast. Erdogan postponed a one-day visit to Albania and planned to visit Soma.

Fifty-seven people were confirmed injured. The explosion ripped through the mine as workers were preparing for a shift change, which likely increased the number of victims because more miners were inside the mine.

(Scroll down for video) Two women and a man were arrested on charges of burglary after they allegedly stole silver from a synagogue and tried to sell it, police in Tennessee said.

Nashville Police said that members of the synagogue were able to help catch those accused of the theft.

The thieves took $10,000 worth of silver religious ornaments from the West End Synagogue on Monday morning around 1:00 a.m.

Authorities said that three people showed up at Cashville Gold and Silver Buyers on Franklin Pike on Monday afternoon, and tried to sell the stolen items. Josh Levine and Jerry Levine, both members of the synagogue, had learned the sacred silver was stolen from their place of worship.

The father and son alerted other gold and silver shops around Nashville that thieves might be trying to sell the stolen items. Surveillance video showed two women and a 13-year-old girl carrying the stolen loot.

They said it belonged to one of their grandmothers, and it had been in the family for generations. When they were told that it does not belong to their grandmother because it actually belongs to Levine’s grandmother, the young women blamed the man waiting in a car outside.

They ran outside, and Josh Levine used his truck to block them until police arrived.

Police arrested 19-year-old Chelsie Roake, 26-year-old Justin Exum and 20-year-old Woodie Arendall. They all admitted their involvement in the robbery. Exum is one of the maintenance men in the West End Synagogue.

The three suspects are now facing charges of robbery and theft, and are each being held on bail of $10,000. Exum has a previous conviction for possession of cocaine.

1 in 4 people worldwide is an anti-Semite new study shows

A new study showed that 25 percent of the world population is anti-Semitic, the Tazpit News Agency reported.

For the first time, the Anti-Defamation League has commissioned an international survey to research attitudes and opinions toward Jews in more than 100 countries around the world.

85.9 percent of the world’s population was surveyed. The primary finding is that 26 percent of the world population, representing an estimated 1.09 billion people, harbor anti-Semitic attitudes.

Anti-Semitic tendencies were gauged by Index Scores, which were created by asking whether 11 negative anti-Semitic stereotypes are “probably true” or “probably false.” Respondents who said at least 6 out of 11 statements are “probably true,” are considered to harbor anti-Semitic attitudes.

Middle East & North Africa are the most anti-Semitic, 74%, followed by Eastern Europe with 34%, Western Europe at 24%, and Oceania at only 14%. Greece is the most anti-Semitic country outside the Middle East.

The most widely accepted anti-Semitic stereotype worldwide is: “Jews are more loyal to Israel than to the countries they live in.” 41% of those asked hold this opinion. The second most widely accepted stereotype, expressed by 35% of those asked is: “Jews have too much power in the business world.” This is the most widely accepted stereotype in Eastern Europe, held by 53%.

Muslims are more likely to harbor anti-Semitic views than members of other religions. Among all the religious groups questioned, Muslims have the highest average Index Score: 49%. Christians in Eastern Orthodox and Catholic countries are more likely to harbor anti-Semitic views than those in Protestant countries.

Gender and age are a factor. Older people are more likely to harbor anti-Semitic views, although in Judea and Samaria and Gaza, between the ages of 1 – 15, 93% expressed anti-Semitic views. Men generally hold more anti-Semitic views than women. This is true for every religion except Buddhism.

Overall, respondents vastly overestimate the world’s Jewish population. In most regions, a majority think over 1% of the world’s population is Jewish. Many even think it is over 10%. The more people overestimate the world’s Jewish population, the more they tend to harbor anti-Semitic attitudes.

Education has a different effect in different regions. In the West more educated people are less likely to harbor anti-Semitic views. Conversely, in the Middle East North Africa, more educated people are more likely to hold anti-Semitic views.

The Holocaust, which serves as a historical reference point in regards to anti-Semitic tendencies is telling. 35% have never heard of the Holocaust. Only 33% are aware of the Holocaust and believe it has been accurately described by history. Nearly a third of respondents who have heard of the Holocaust, 32%, think it is either a myth or has been greatly exaggerated. Younger people are less aware of the Holocaust

Fewer than 10% of those surveyed say they interact with Jewish people very or somewhat often. Of the 26% who believe a majority of the anti-Semitic stereotypes, 70% have actually never met a Jewish person. Countries with more than 10,000 Jews or where Jews are more than .1% of the population tend to hold fewer anti-Semitic views.

The source of information on Jews is of influence. Most people get their information about Jews from television. However, the Internet is an important second source of information for many. Muslims who get their information about Jews from the Internet are more likely to harbor anti-Semitic attitudes than those who receive their news from other sources.

Fieldwork and data collection for this global public opinion project were conducted and coordinated by Anzalone Liszt Grove Research. All interviews were conducted between July 2013 and February 2014. The data is a result of 53,100 total interviews among citizens aged 18 and over, across 101 countries. Interviews were conducted via landline telephones, mobile phones and face-to-face discussions in 96 languages. All respondents were selected at random.

“The level of anti-Semitism in some countries and regions, even those where there are no Jews, is in many instances shocking,” said Barry Curtiss-Lusher, ADL National Chair. “We hope this unprecedented effort to measure and gauge anti-Semitic attitudes globally will serve as a wake-up call to governments, to international institutions and to people of conscience that anti-Semitism is not just a relic of history, but a current event,” concluded Curtiss-Lusher.

Many children were raped and sexually abused at the hands of eight convicted sex offenders.

Now, their mothers have been arrested and charged with child endangerment.

The women of Iowa, were accused of knowingly allowing children to live next to and spend the night with some of the eight men, who have a history of sexual abuse and child pornography.

Police have confirmed that at least six children were victims of abuse, neglect or child pornography.

Two sex offenders were arrested and charged with abusing some of the children. A third was arrested for failing to appear in the registry.

Sherry Ann Oats, 48, Shaneka Posey, 23, Jenni Jenkins, 29, Sarah Melissa McConnell, 34, lived with their families at the Patriot Mobile Home Park and Apartments in Davenport.

All four women are now facing charges for leaving their children in the care of the accused suspects.

The Iowa residency laws require sex offenders to live at least 2,000 feet away from schools or daycare centers. This law caused many sex offenders to live in remote areas.

The law ended up creating clusters of sex offenders living in low rent motels, trailer parks and neighborhoods near poor families with young children.

By: Hydar Tomar

(Scroll down for video) Parents were furious when they found their newborn baby’s mouth covered with tape.

Ryan Noval and Jasmine Badocdoc, were overjoyed with the birth of their son, Yohannes Noval.

Baby Noval stayed at the Philippines hospital for a few extra days after birth because he had an infection.

The baby’s parents went to visit him at the nursery room of the private hospital where he had been staying, when they suddenly saw their baby’s mouth taped shut.

When the couple questioned the staff, a nurse told them that she had to tape to the child's mouth because he was constantly crying and making noise.

Mr. Noval said that his partner asked the nurse to remove the tape, but she allegedly replied: “You can go ahead and do it yourself, mam.”

The mother was afraid that she might hurt the baby while removing the tape, and the nurse finally agreed to remove the tape herself.

The angry father posted the photo of his baby with tape over his mouth to Facebook and wrote: “I know my son Yohannes Noval cannot talk about his horrible experience at the hands of the nurse attending to him, so we have to speak up for him.”

One nurse claimed that the tape was placed to hold the baby’s pacifier in his mouth. However, that did not work as the pacifier fell out of his mouth when he cried.

An investigation is being conducted by the hospital over the incident.

A man was excited to finally meet the woman with whom he was talking over the Internet for many years.

However, the meeting went very bad and the man committed suicide by jumping from the sixth floor in a crowded mall.

The man was identified as Roberto Gonzales of the Philippines. Gonzales met the woman in the mall in the city of Lipa, Batangas.

A witness told investigators that she overheard the conversation between the man and the woman before he jumped.

Gonzales asked the woman: “Is that really you? How can that girl be you? You have dark skin. You fooled me for six years!”

Gonzales first met the woman through social media. They carried on a virtual relationship for six years.

When the two finally met in person, Gonzales was disappointed with the woman he saw standing in front of
him.

Gonzales reportedly had a hard time facing the fact that the woman looked different in person than on the photos she posted.

The woman used Instagram filters to enhance her looks before posting her photos to the Internet.

“He said I looked nothing like the photos I've posted online. I did not know that my looks are so important to him. I thought he was going to accept me even without Instagram filters,” the woman told investigators.

Gonzales was pronounced dead at the scene.

Toshihiko Nishi

(Scroll down for video) A perverted man with a fetish of watching women desperately needing to use the bathroom, was arrested, police in Japan said.

41-year-old Toshihiko Nishi, got sexual thrills of seeing women on the verge of peeing themselves and ultimately wetting themselves out of desperation.

Nishi found the perfect job to feed his fixation. By being a taxi driver it gave him access to women, police in the city of Osaka said.

He allegedly lured women on long trips in his taxi and sometimes offered half-price rates. Then he offered them biscuits covered with diuretics, a substance that promotes the production of urine.

“I was excited to see women trying to resist the urge to urinate,” the driver told investigators after he was arrested.

He admitted to buying the diuretics over the Internet. He then crushed the substance and mixed it into cookies, which he offered to his customers.

One victim told police that she had gotten into the cab of Nishi in Osaka, and was given a small paper cup containing cookies.

Shortly after eating the snack, she desperately needed to urinate. She asked the driver stop so she can use a restroom, but he refused. Instead, he passed her an absorbent sheet and encouraged her to urinate on it.

When police raided Nishi’s home, they found videos of more than 50 women wetting themselves or peeing in the backseat of his car. He secretly recorded the acts with a security camera he installed in his cab.

Nishi has been arrested and charged for committing a violent act.
