(Scroll down for video) More than a dozen terrorists were killed after being caught infiltrating Israel through a secret tunnel, the Tazpit News Agency reported.

On Thursday morning, the IDF thwarted an attack by Hamas terrorists. Soldiers identified 13 terrorists attempting to infiltrate Israel through the terror tunnel constructed by Hamas.

The tunnel led underground from the southern Gaza Strip towards the southern Israeli community of Sufa. The soldiers thwarted an impending terror attack, preventing the terrorists from attacking an Israeli kibbutz.

An attack could have had deadly and devastating consequences if carried out, an IDF source said. No injuries to IDF soldiers were reported.

Terror tunnels are just one example of Hamas’ constant attempts to violate Israel’s sovereignty and security, by carrying out lethal attacks against Israeli civilians.

“As the IDF demonstrated in recent days, Hamas will not be able to launch strikes against Israel without consequences,” the source said.

IDF Spokesman Brigadier General Motti Almoz, stated after the attack that judging by the equipment and weaponry the terrorists were carrying, the attack would have been devastating.

"We could have woken up to a horrible morning with many dead and wounded. Thanks to the alertness and preparedness it ended this way," Almoz said.

The IDF estimates that there are some 10 more tunnels ready for use.

3 Jerusalem men arrested for helping Hamas launch rockets at Israel (video)

Hamas rocket strikes home in Ashdod

(Scroll down for video) Three men were arrested on charges of terrorism after allegedly helping Hamas fire rockets at Israel, the Tazpit News Agency reported.

An Israel Police spokesperson announced that three Arabs, residents of east Jerusalem in their early 20's, were arrested on charges of violation of the directive to prevent terrorism after they recorded the falling of rockets on Ashdod and broadcast the locations of the hits, and by doing so assisted Hamas in their terror efforts.

The three work at a construction site in Ashdod, building a very tall tower named “K Tower.”

The building has a commanding view the entire city. When rockets were fired at the city a few days ago, one of them recorded the location of where the rockets hit. The three are heard cheering and shouting “Allah Akbar,” as the rockets hit their civilian targets.

The police received information about this clip and arrested the three. The phone with which the video was recorded was recovered, and the three implicated themselves. It is prohibited in general to publish in any way the exact location of where rockets hit. The terror organizations use this information for future attacks.

They were charged with violation of the directive to prevent terrorism, racism, incitement, violence and terror. They were released on bail.

Hamas fires rockets on Gaza leaving 100,000 citizens without electricity

Black out illustration
By: Aryeh Savir

For the second since Operation Protective Edge, Hamas knocked out power to its own citizens, the Tazpit News Agency reported.

The warfare between Israel and the Hamas terror organization continues, with no real fluctuation in intensity or change in tactics.

More than 132 rockets were fired from Gaza towards Israel, over the past 24 hours. At least 82 rockets struck Israel. 33 rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense systems. The IDF hit 176 terror targets in the Gaza Strip.

Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, touring the south with Norwegian Foreign Minister Borge Brende, was forced to run for cover as rockets were fired at Ashkelon. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later met with Foreign Minister Brende in Jerusalem, and told him that Israel has proven to the international community that it is ready to consider additional ways to achieve calm apart from expanding military action.

However, he noted that since Hamas rejected the Egyptian ceasefire proposal it would bear the consequences of its decision. Netanyahu added that the international community needs to support the demilitarization of Gaza from rockets and tunnels.

Israel has agreed to a temporary five hour cease fire. The IDF announced that a result of dialogue between them and the U.N., Israel will enable a humanitarian window in Gaza between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

During this time, the IDF will hold their fire in Gaza. This humanitarian window is meant to allow civilians to resupply needed goods. This replenishing of goods is in preparation for the ongoing military campaign.

The IDF stressed that the citizens are not to return to their homes in northern Gaza after 3:00 p.m., as the IDF still plans to intensify its attacks in that area from where over 30% of the rocket attacks on Israel emanate. The IDF further warned that should the humanitarian window be exploited by Hamas or other terror organizations for the purpose of launching attacks against Israeli civilian or military targets the IDF will respond firmly and decisively.

The IDF shared another important piece of information. Hamas aims for Israel, but its rockets have hit Gaza over 100 times in 9 days. They have again hit main power lines running from the Israeli power plant to the Gaza Strip, cutting off 100,000 of their citizens from electricity.

Since the beginning of Operation Protective Edge over 1350 rocket have been launched at Israel. 1027 of those rockets hit Israel. Approximately 265 rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense systems. The IDF has targeted over 1,872 terror targets, with both naval and aerial capabilities.

195 children and 18 babies begin their new life in Israel after fleeing from Paris

New immigrants to Israel from France
By: Anav Silverman

A large group of children and babies arrived in Israel this week, to begin their new lives as Israeli citizens, the Tazpit News Agency reported.

Two special flights arrived at Ben Gurion airport, filled with 430 French Jewish immigrants leaving Paris and its suburbs on Wednesday.

The flights, organized by the Jewish Agency for Israel and the Ministry of Aliyah and Immigrant Absorption, had mostly families, including 195 children and 18 babies.

Despite the security situation in Israel, dozens of French Jews will be moving to the southern cities of Ashdod and Ashkelon. The rest will live in communities throughout the Jewish state including 100 in Tel Aviv and 130 in Netanya.

On Thursday, the new Israelis will receive their Israeli ID cards in a festive ceremony in Jerusalem. Not one new immigrant canceled his or her arrival to Israel, even with the heavy rocket fire from the Gaza Strip, according to the Jewish Agency Chairman Natan Sharansky, who was on hand to welcome the new immigrants along with the Minister of Aliyah and Immigrant Absorption Sofa Landver.

“France may not have won the World Cup, but you are champions when it comes to Aliyah – immigration to Israel,” Sharansky told the group on Wednesday.

“More than 1,000 new immigrants from around the world have arrived in Israel during Operation Protective Edge. Today, 430 of you came from France. Not a single one of these new immigrants canceled or postponed his or her arrival. Welcome to the family,” said Sharansky.

The Jewish Agency expects more than 5,000 French Jews to immigrate to Israel by the end of the year. In the past three years, French Jewish immigration has increased dramatically. In 2013, 3,289 French Jews immigrated to Israel compared to 1,917 immigrants in 2012 – a 60% increase.

During the first six months of the year, 2,600 French Jews arrived to Israel in compared to 812 in 2012.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Aliyah and Immigrant Absorption and The Jewish Agency, have developed special plans to encourage French Aliyah and help French Jews acclimate into Israeli society.

The plan includes efforts to strengthen Jewish identity among French Jewish youth, expand Israel experience programs, remove bureaucratic barriers to employment in Israel, and boost the number of Jewish Agency representatives in France.

“Two weeks ago, when we met in Paris at the moving ceremony during which you parted with the country of your birth, I met entire families whose veins flow with Zionism, who are willing to leave their entire lives behind in order to realize their dream of immigrating to Israel,” said the Minister of Aliyah and Immigrant Absorption Sofa Landver.

“Every immigrant who arrives in Israel strengthens us as a people, and this is all the more so when it comes to the growing Aliyah from France,” Landver said.

The Jewish community in France, the largest in Europe, has experienced growing hostility and violent attacks over the last few years.

Just this past Sunday, two pro-Palestinian demonstrators tried to storm two Paris synagogues, trapping 200 Jewish congregants in one synagogue while hurling objects and shouting anti-Semitic slogans during an anti-Israel demonstration that left three Jews injured.

100s of Muslims and religious Jews break their fast together

Joint break-fast event in Jerusalem
By: Anav Silverman

Hundreds of Muslims and religious Jews, broke their fast together on Tuesday night, the Tazpit News Agency reported.

As 122 Gaza rockets struck Israel, hundreds of observant Muslims and observant Jews, united to break their mutual fast day together.

The events brought the people of the two different faiths
together, as the Jewish fast of the 17th of Tammuz, commemorating the Roman breach of Jerusalem’s walls, fell during the Muslim fast of the month of Ramadan, one of the five pillars of Islam.

Thirteen fast-breaking gatherings were held across Israel. The events, which were part of a global movement of interfaith break-fasts for the 18th day of Ramadan and 17th day of Tammuz, were led and organized by a group called “Choose Life.”

Over 32 events, promoted on the group’s Facebook page that had Hebrew, English and Arabic translations of the event's names, took place internationally in mosques, synagogues, and community centers.

Cities such as London, Paris and Kuwait City, as well as across the United States in the cities New York, Austin and Cleveland, took part in the interfaith gatherings.

In Israel, joint end-of-fast events featuring joint prayer and study sessions were held in Eilat, Be’er Sheva, Yerucham, Kibbutz Ein Dor, the Gush Etzion Junction, Yeshivat Otniel in the south Hebron Hills and in Jerusalem.

The Interfaith Center for Sustainable Development and Jerusalem Peacemakers, co-organized one event out of three break-fast gatherings held in Israel’s capital, featuring joint study sessions and vegetarian food.

Over 100 people attended the break-fast event held on Jerusalem’s Mount Zion at the Jerusalem Intercultural Center. Rabbis and sheikhs traded words of blessing to the audience.

Rabbi Yonathan Neril, founder and director of the Interfaith Center for Sustainable Development, said: “This gathering empowers the children of Abraham - Jews, Muslims, and Christians - to come together in the holy city of Jerusalem and see the humanity in one another.

“It’s not about us versus them. It’s about us and them, about how we can live together in one land,” said Rabbi Neril.

Palestinian Muslim, Sheikh Haj Ibrahim Abu El Hawa, co-founder of Jerusalem Peacemakers with director Eliyahu McLean, believes that the joint break-fast event carried an important message.

“The new generation needs to carry the message of how we can live together, because we are not born with signs over our heads that say we are Jewish, Muslim, Christian, or Buddhist. We are all one,” said Abu El Hawa.

“Let the world know that there are Israelis, Palestinians, Jews, and Muslims in Jerusalem and all over the land who do not buy into the narrative that we are enemies, that we have to hate one other, that we have to be at war with one another. We actually see things differently,” concluded McLean.

A judge has caused outrage when he said that incest is gaining social acceptance.

The judge of Australia, was suspended and is being investigation after he was quoted as saying that sex between siblings was gaining social acceptance just like homosexuality.

District Court Judge Garry Neilson, reportedly made the statement in a case in which a man was accused of repeatedly raping his younger sister.

New South Wales State Attorney General Brad Hazzard, said that he was “very concerned” about the alleged comments of the judge. He said that the community is also appalled by the statement.

“Incest is totally reprehensible, unacceptable, disgusting and criminal,” Hazzard said.

Neilson was quoted saying that communities might no longer see sex between siblings as “unnatural” or “taboo,” just like people changed their view of homosexuality, which is now socially acceptable despite being criminalized in the past.

The judge said that the reason incest is still a crime is because of the risk of genetic abnormalities in children born through a relationship of this type.
