CNN reporter calls Israelis ‘scum’ for cheering Israel’s attempt to stop rocket fire from Gaza

CNN reporter’s tweet
By: Sanvi Rizvi

A CNN International reporter called Israeli “scum” for cheering Israel’s offensive on the Gaza Strip, according to a tweet on the reporter’s Twitter account.

Diana Magnay called the Israelis “scum” on Thursday.

“Israelis on hill above Sderot cheer as bombs land on #gaza; threaten to ‘destroy our car if I say a word wrong’. Scum,” Magnay tweeted.

The tweet has since been removed from her account. Earlier this week, music fans were angry after Rihanna tweeted #FreePalestine on her Twitter page.

Rihanna just inserted herself into the center of the Middle East conflict by tweeting #FreePalestine, but she deleted the tweet after eight minutes.

It is unclear why Rihanna had the change of heart. The tweet was posted shortly after the ceasefire proposal of Egypt collapsed because Hamas continued to fire rockets at Israel.

The tweet of Rihanna, comes just three days after NBA star Dwight Howard, tweeted #FreePalestine. Just like Rihanna, Howard deleted the message.

Howard later apologized for engaging in international politics. However, Rihanna did not apologize. Rihanna did tweet: “Let’s pray for peace and a swift end to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict! Is there any hope?”

All members of the United States Senate, voted to support Israel’s ground war in Gaza.

Senators Bob Menendez, Democrat, New Jersey, and Lindsey Graham, Republican, South Carolina, authored S.Res. 498, which reaffirms support for Israel and condemns unprovoked rocket fire.

It also calls on Hamas to stop all rocket attacks against Israel.

"The U.S. Senate is in the camp of Israel," Graham told the Senate on Thursday.

The adoption of the resolution came moments after Israel announced that it launched a ground offensive in the Gaza Strip, after a week of heavy rocket attacks from Hamas.

"Hamas must end its rocket and mortar attacks, and recognize Israel's right to exist," said Senator Ben Cardin, Democrat, Maryland. "Hamas cannot be allowed to continue their terrorist acts," Cardin added.

Senator Rand Paul, Republican, Kentucky, supported the resolution, which was approved by a unanimous consent agreement.

He called on the Senate to pass his bill, S. 2265, that would end all U.S. foreign aid to the Palestinian Authority, until Hamas is no longer a part of the government.

1000s of Israeli soldiers enter Gaza to stop constant rocket fire aimed at Israeli civilians

(Scroll down for video) Thousands of Israel Defense Forces soldiers entered the Gaza Strip early on Friday morning, in order to stop terrorist rocket fire aimed at Israeli civilians, the Tazpit News Agency reported.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon, instructed the IDF to begin the ground action to strike at the terrorist tunnels from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory on Thursday evening.

The new phase of the operation entails a large IDF force of infantry, tanks, artillery, combat engineers and field intelligence all entering the Gaza Strip. The Israel Air Force, Navy and other Israeli security agencies are supporting the ground forces.

Earlier on Thursday morning, a Hamas assault squad consisting of 13 highly armed terrorists, came through a tunnel and attempted to carry out a large-scale massacre of members in the Israeli community of Kibbutz Sufa, located on the Gaza border.

The terrorists went through an underground tunnel that was dug in the southern Gaza Strip into Israel. As the terrorists emerged on the Israeli side, armed with RPGs and assault rifles, they were spotted and neutralized by the IDF.

“Had we not succeeded, we would have woken up to 13 terrorists in a kibbutz,” said IDF Spokesman Brig.-Gen. Moti Almoz.

Netanyahu and Yaalon, also instructed the IDF to be prepared for an expansion of the ground action. The directive for ground action was approved by the Security Cabinet after Israel agreed to the Egyptian ceasefire proposal, whereas Hamas rejected it and continued firing rockets at Israeli cities.

“Hamas also did not honor the humanitarian ceasefire initiated by the U.N. and continued firing at Israeli cities during the lull. In light of Hamas' criminal and relentless aggression, as well as the dangerous attempt to infiltrate Israeli territory, Israel must act to defend its citizens,” according to a statement released by the Office of the Prime Minister of Israel.

The goal to target Hamas’ tunnels that cross under the Israel-Gaza border, which enable terrorists to infiltrate Israel and carry out attacks, requires intensive and precise operations inside Gaza, according to the IDF assessments.

In a briefing to Israeli generals on the ground operation late Thursday night, the IDF Chief of Staff, Benny Gantz, stated that “We are going to strike. It is going to be a combined strike, from the air and the ground. Our forces will operate in close coordination, employing their full strength, both along the routes of deployment, and within the area itself, to achieve operational control in the area and to continue striking targets within the Gaza Strip.”

The Chief of Staff also wished the soldiers and generals good luck, and stated that the IDF is doing “everything in our capacity with the appropriate force as proud Israeli soldiers.”

The Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi David Lau, called upon the public to read the Psalms for the safety and success of the soldiers. “They are fulfilling a moral obligation on behalf of the nation of Israel - we are all praying for their success, safety and safe return home,” said Rabbi Lau.

Meanwhile, rockets continued to strike Israel throughout Thursday night and into Friday morning, albeit for a three hour pause in rocket fire once the ground operation began.

In the last 10 days, Hamas has fired 1,500 rockets at Israeli civilians in major cities and communities across the country, threatening the majority of Israel’s citizens.

‘Meth prostitutes’ where women get paid to do meth with lonely clients is becoming popular

Woman doing drugs illustration
By: Aarav Sen

Prostitution is known to be the oldest profession.

However, with so many women looking for quick and easy money, a new “prostitution” market called “Bing Mei” has emerged.

“Bing Mei” is especially popular in China, where people are actually paying prostitutes to do methamphetamine with them.

Prostitutes “who take ice” (slang for meth) don’t necessarily have sex with their client. Their “job” is to keep the man company and do methamphetamine him.

A man, who was identified as Hao, said that his friends began paying women for doing drugs with him after he realized that taking drugs with women was better than doing it alone.

At first, he was looking at high-class call girls. However, that ended up costing him a whopping 2,000RMB (about $322) per night, so he began looking for cheaper alternatives.

That's when he found “meth prostitutes” or “Bing Mei.” Sadly, many of these women start out as bar servers and innocently join bar patrons to keep them company and do drugs together for money.

After getting involved with the drugs, many women become full fledged drug addicts. To feed their addiction, these women then choose jobs as stripper and prostitutes. Some want to be paid directly with drugs, which in some cases leads them to become full time “meth prostitutes.”

The WaterSaver Faucet Co. of Chicago, Illinois, has implemented new rules, which demands workers to swipe a card before entering for work.

The company keeps track of employees’ bathroom use, and if it is “excessive” they are disciplined. Employees can even be fired for excessive violations.

A union, Teamsters local 743, filed a complaint with the National Labor Relations Board against The WaterSaver Faucet Co., for unjustly disciplining 19 workers for “excessive use” of the bathrooms.

“The company’s Human Resources department describes excessive use of bathroom as 60 minutes or more during 10 days of work,” according to the affidavit. That comes out to 6 minutes per day of bathroom time.

Each month, the company rewards workers with a $20 gift card if they do not use the bathroom during their shift for the entire month.

The company’s owner, Steve Kersten, defended his position by saying that 120 hours of production were lost in one month because of the time workers spent in the bathroom.

He believes that workers are spending time on their phones in the bathrooms.
