Hamas fires 280 rockets at Gaza killing its own citizens

Hamas rocket slams into United Nations warehouse in Gaza
By: Devansh Dutt

Israeli kids are not the only recipients of Gaza rockets.

Over the past four weeks, Hamas fires nearly three hundred rockets at Gaza, killing civilians, the IDF Blog reported.

Hamas’ indiscriminate firing of rockets endangers millions of Israeli and Palestinian lives. While the IDF strikes terrorist targets in Gaza with precision, Hamas launches rockets with one aim, hitting civilians.

On the afternoon of July 28, a squad of Gaza terrorists fired a barrage of four rockets from a densely populated area, aiming to kill Israelis. Instead, one hit al-Shifa hospital and another the Shati refugee camp, both inside Gaza.

A third was intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system above Ashdod. While Israel invests in keeping its citizens safe, Hamas invests in terrorist infrastructure, causing the people of Gaza to suffer.

The Hamas rockets that hit Palestinian civilian structures on that day, weren’t the only ones. Of the thousands of rockets launched by terrorists at Israel since July 8, more than 280 have landed inside the Gaza Strip.

This doesn’t include a rocket fired on July 13 that hit electricity infrastructure inside Israel, knocking out power for 70,000 Gaza residents. Despite the danger of further rocket fire, Israel Electric Corporation staff fixed the damage, restoring power to the residents of Gaza — victims of Hamas.

Of course, Hamas rockets landing on civilian areas inside Gaza are not the terrorist organization’s only crimes against the Palestinian people. Hamas has regularly and insistently called on Gaza’s civilians to ignore the IDF’s warnings about impending strikes on military targets, and instructed them to position themselves directly in the line of fire.

This is part of Hamas’ human shield apparatus — the way it uses Gaza’s civilians to protect its terrorist infrastructure.

Pastors from all 50 states and Washington DC head to Israel in support of its war on terror

Christians United for Israel ad campaign
By: Anav Silverman

A large delegation of pastors from across the United States, are heading to Israel for a solidarity trip, the Tazpit News Agency reported.

On the heels of announcing a national pro-Israel ad campaign, Christians United for Israel (CUFI), the largest pro-Israel organization in the U.S., announced that the group is taking 51 pastors - one from each state and the District of Columbia - to Israel for a four-day solidarity trip.

The group, which departs Monday, plans to meet with senior Israeli officials, offer encouragement to Israeli soldiers defending the Jewish state and donate blood to help the wounded.

Church leaders joining the trip include Todd Burpo, author of Heaven is for Real and senior pastor of Nebraska’s Crossroads Wesleyan Church, Dr. James Garlow, senior pastor at Skyline Church in San Diego, California, Billye Brim, head of Missouri-based Billye Brim Ministries, Lynne Hammond, senior pastor of Living Word Christian Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Waxer Tipton, senior pastor of One Love Ministries in Honolulu, Hawaii.

“While Israel's been at war, our pastors and leaders have wanted to do something concrete to demonstrate their support and solidarity. So in addition to our recent DC Summit and our national advertising campaign about Hamas, we're taking 51 pastors - one from every state in the union plus the District of Columbia - on a solidarity mission to Israel,” said CUFI executive director David Brog.

“Each of these pastors represents those of our 1.8 million CUFI members who live in their state. We will give blood. We will visit the wounded. We will tell everyone we meet that those shouting ‘death to the Jews’ on the streets of Berlin, Germany, and Paris, France, do not represent all of us. Perhaps most importantly, we'll share what we see and learn with our members back home,” Brog said.

CUFI’s national, multi-platform advertising campaign is part of an effort to educate U.S. citizens about the true nature of Hamas. Full-page ads ran in Thursday’s print editions of the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, and the Los Angeles Times. On Friday, full page ads ran in USA Today, the Atlanta Journal Constitution, the Denver Post, the Chicago Sun Times, and the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Simultaneously, CUFI is running web-based advertisements on several top news and Christian websites including Fox News, the Christian Post, and Beliefnet, among several others.

Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah party takes credit for failed murder and kidnapping in Israeli West Bank town

Scene of the incident
By: Aryeh Savir

The so called moderate Palestinian party Fatah, claimed responsibility for a failed terror attack in the West Bank, the Tazpit News Agency reported.

Fatah claimed responsibility this morning, for the incident in which two Arabs infiltrated the community of Neve Tzuf, in the Binyamin region north of Jerusalem, apparently in a failed attempt to carry out a terror attack.

The two entered a home in the afternoon, taking two boys and locking them in a room. They were searching for some sort of weapon, possibly knives in the kitchen, when a third sibling came and chased them away. A woman was lightly wounded in the ensuing struggle.

The attackers escaped and security forces launched extensive searches to apprehend the two. They have not been arrested yet.

Miri Maoz Ovadia, spokeswoman for the Binyamin Regional Council, stated: “The break-in was into my parents' house, the Maoz family. Police are looking into the incident, but it is important for me that you understand what took place there, based on eyewitness testimony. This event almost turned into a terror attack and miraculously was thwarted," she said.

It was initially unclear whether the attack had a criminal or nationalistic motive, but the Fatah's military wing, the Al-Aqsa Brigades, has claimed responsibility for the failed terror attack.

The statement said that the organization's terror cell confronted "Zionist settlers" and killed three of them before they safely returned." This claim is false. They further stated that this struggle continues until victory or martyrdom in the way of Allah.

Israeli military announces that it has turned its focus to killing Hamas fighters

By: Aryeh Savir

The Israeli military announced that it has shifted its focus to killing Hamas fighters, the Tazpit News Agency reporters.

The IDF said that Operation Protective Edge has moved to the next stage.

“We are redeploying our forces to enable combat against Hamas and continued defense from tunnels,” the statement read.

There are still skirmishes in Gaza, and Hamas is continuing to fire rockets and mortars at Israeli civilian targets.

In one incident, forces operating to uncover shafts identified several terrorists emerging from one, and immediately opened fire at the squad.

The force fired at the terrorists, and confirmed a hit. The forces moved on to detonate the tunnel’s route. In another incident, a paratrooper unit identified four terrorists preparing to launch an anti-tank missile from a house in the southern Gaza Strip.

Armored corps opened fire at the target and the house collapsed, killing four terrorists. Earlier on, Givati Special Forces uncovered more than 150 mortars and a tunnel opening in Rafah, Gaza.

The IDF further found motorcycles and weapons in a tunnel inside Israel. Hamas planned to use them to carry out a deadly attack against Israeli civilians and race back into Gaza with hostages. The Islamic Jihad’s northern district commander in the Gaza Strip, Danyal Mansour, was killed in an Israeli strike on a house providing him shelter in the Jabalya refugee camp.

This morning, IAF fired a missile at a terror operative riding a motorcycle in Rafah. A direct hit was confirmed. Since midnight, The IDF struck some 63 terror targets in Gaza.

In the meantime, Israel is looking for a diplomatic solution that will end the operation in a solid fashion. Islamic Jihad leader Ziad Nahla, the group’s number two in command, said that the issue of disarming the Gaza Strip has not come up in ceasefire talks in Cairo, and that the demand is in any case unacceptable to Palestinian factions in the Strip, a report in the Egyptian daily Al-Ahram stated.

Palestinian factions are meeting with Egyptian intelligence officials in an effort to broker a month-long ceasefire. Israel was set to join the talks, but in the past week, due to Hamas’ violations of multiple ceasefires, Israel will no longer negotiate any agreement with Hamas.

The IDF has authorized a humanitarian window to take place in the Gaza Strip from 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. today in all of Gaza, not including east Rafiah, where heavy fighting continues.

However, Coordinator for Government Activities in the Territories, Maj. Gen. Yoav Mordechai, warns that any violation of the truce will be met with immediate retaliation at the source of the fire.

Gaza terrorists fired 119 rockets at Israel. 108 rockets struck Israel. 8 were intercepted by the Iron Dome defense systems. One rocket was intercepted by the Iron Dome over Tel Aviv, and 3 rockets hit open areas in southern Israel. On Sunday, Palestinian terrorists fired 11 mortars from the vicinity of an UNRWA school in the neighborhood of Zeitoun.

Since the beginning of Operation Protective Edge, more than 3,127 rockets have been fired from Gaza at Israel. In total, 4,626 terror targets were attacked throughout Operation Protective Edge.

Israeli soldiers receiving free coffee and pastries at national restaurant chains as strange diners pay their bills

Soldier's note that his food was fully paid for by a donor
By: Aryeh Savir

Israeli soldiers are reporting that they are receiving free coffee and pastries at national restaurant chains after fellow diners secretly pay their bills, the Tazpit News Agency reported.

The outpouring of love shown to the IDF soldiers during Operation Protective Edge has become legendary.

The fighting soldiers have received countless donations and gifts, visits by Israelis from across the country, musicians and rock stars have come to entertain, anyone with a helpful profession has donated time and abilities, and scores of strangers have come to visit the wounded at hospitals.

The extent of the love has become so magnificent that spokespeople for the Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem said Wednesday, that the four wounded IDF soldiers who are hospitalized, have been overwhelmed by visitors.

According to a statement released by the hospital, doctors and family members have asked well-meaning Israelis to refrain from visiting wounded soldiers without coordinating those visits with the families.

There are further reports that IDF units at the Gaza front have been forced to re-donate their food donations to local communities around Gaza because they have too much.

One story exemplifies this phenomenon.

Asher Malka, 35, a father of four children and a programmer at a high-tech company, was called up for emergency reserve duty early Friday morning over two weeks ago. He left immediately, and spent the next week training for his entry into Gaza.

On Wednesday, he was sent by his unit to visit a wounded comrade at the Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon. He said that throughout the visit, a constant stream of strangers entered the room, wishing the wounded soldier well, thanking him for his service and offering him gifts. He was loaded with food and gifts.

His story only gets better. On the way back to his unit, he stopped with another friend for a short break at a coffee shop. They were instantly presented with bread and pastries on the house.

Later on, they were served desert, paid for by a woman who had already left. When they asked for the bill, they received a note that read: "It's moving and delightful to see you! Thanks for everything! Your bill has already been paid for, with much love!"

Asher told that Tazpit News Agency that he was simply awed by the VIP treatment they received. “I was shocked,” he said. "We didn't expect such an outpouring of love. We received a real hero's welcome. It felt good to know that the nation is behind us."

This story is just one of numerous accounts of citizens coming out to help and show support for their fighting men and women in the IDF. At times of crisis, all of Israel becomes one family.
