Three Muslim men were indicted on charges of assault after allegedly pulling a man from his car and beating him because he is Jewish, prosecutors in Israel said.
According to the indictment filed on Wednesday with the District Court in Lod, the three men of Kalansuwa, attacked the driver only after they identified their victim as a Jew.
The three 20-year-old men also participated in riots that broke out in the city after the murder of Mohammed Abu Khdeir. Around 10:00 p.m., the three men blocked a road and searched for a Jew.
After identifying one driver as a Jew, the three men pulled him out from the car and beat him. While beating the man, the defendants called their friends: "Come, come, here is as Jew."
Other people arrived and threw stones at the vehicle. After a few minutes, the driver managed to flee from the scene. The next day, the three saw a Jewish man on a motorcycle.
They ordered him to stop, and when he refused the three threw stones at him. The driver lost control of his motorcycle and slammed into a wall.
The victim was seriously injured.
