(Scroll down for video) A young Hasidic boy was attacked by a group of black teens in Crown Heights, in an unprovoked attack, police in New York said.
Brooklyn Police said that the 9-year-old Jewish boy was attacked by the teens on Presidents Street and Albany Avenue just after 4:00 p.m., as the child was walking home.
The victim described the group as young teenagers, three boys and a girl. The group attacked the boy, who managed to escape and run home.
Police said that they are investigating the incident as a possible hate crime. Later in the day, a Jewish man was approached by a group of four or five black men, and after a brief verbal exchange the group sprayed the victim with mace.
Rescue workers found the victim on the ground. Hatzolah paramedics were called and they treated the victim at the scene.
Police said that the incident does not appear to be a hate crime.
