Iran vows to supply Palestinians with large amount of missiles and ammunition to strike Israel

Large missile from Iran intercepted by Israel
By: Ze'ev Ben-Yechiel

Just hours after a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas went into effect, the Iranian government vowed to supply Palestinians with missiles and ammunition, the Tazpit News Agency reported.

On Sunday, Iran claimed that it shot down an Israeli spy drone over its airspace.

"We will accelerate the arming of the West Bank and we reserve the right to give any response," said General Amir-Ali Hajizadeh in a statement on Sepah News, the official website of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC).

Hajizadeh, the elite unit's commander of aerial forces, issued the statement in response to the alleged violation of Iranian airspace by the drone, which Iran claims it shot down near its Natanz nuclear site.

Following the incident, the Guards said that the drone was an Israeli-made Hermes 450, a model whose flight range would have allowed it to reach the area. Video of the wreckage was broadcast on Iranian television, and the Foreign Ministry condemned what it saw as a "flagrant violation" of its territorial integrity.

"The Armed Forces, including the IRGC and the Army, are fully prepared to trace and intercept [hostile flying objects] and if such moves are repeated, the aggressors will receive our crushing response,” warned Hajizadeh in Monday's statement.

"We will accelerate the arming of the West Bank, and we think we are entitled to give any response [to the recent aggression] which we deem appropriate," he added.

Iran has long been seen as a major weapons supplier to Hamas. Numerous medium and long-range rockets from Syria and Iran, have found their way into Gaza, where the terror group has launched some them at Israeli civilians.

(Scroll down for video) An Israeli soldier was hospitalized after being wounded from a rocket that was shot from Syria into Israel, the Tazpit News Agency reported.

The Israeli officer was stationed in the Golan Heights, when he was injured on Wednesday morning, by stray fire coming from Syria.

Israeli officials ordered a number of evacuations in the area as fighting in the Syrian civil war continues to spill over into Israel. Israeli forces retaliated several hours later, with an artillery strike against Syrian forces.

Shortly before 12:00 p.m., the IDF officer serving in an observation post in the area was injured by mortar fire. The officer was evacuated to Rambam Medical Center in Haifa, where he was reported to be in moderate condition.

A number of Israeli farms in the Golan Heights, were evacuated Wednesday morning, following the intensified fighting between the Syrian army and rebel forces near the border.

The Golan Regional Council reported that workers in farms in the Kuneitra Valley, were ordered to move away from areas near the border fence due to concerns that the fighting in Syria would spill over into Israeli territory.

Reports also indicated that the lookout point on Mt. Avital, adjacent to Kibbutz Ein Zivan and overlooking the Syrian town of Kuneitra across the border, was also evacuated.

Additional measures included the evacuation of Avital Volcanic Park and the closure of the northern section of Highway 98. In retaliation for today's stray mortar fire, IDF forces fired a barrage of artillery at the Syrian position believed to be responsible for launching the mortar.

The strike was confirmed by the IDF. The Israeli military maintains a policy of holding the Syrian government responsible for any fire that enters Israeli territory.

In the latest flare-up near the border, locals reported hearing explosions from tank or mortar shells since early morning, coming from the direction of Kuneitra.

Tuesday morning, several mortar shells from the fighting in Syria exploded in the town of Aloni Bashan in the Golan Heights. No injuries were reported in that incident.

Kuneitra has been the scene of multiple battles between the Syrian army and opposition forces. Following its brief capture by the rebels in 2013 it fell back into government hands, and remains the last pocket of government resistance in the Golan Heights region of Syria.

Hamas declares that war will only end after Palestinian take over Jerusalem (video)

By: Ze'ev Ben-Yechiel

(Scroll down for video) A Hamas official declared that the war with Israel will only end after Palestinians will take over Jerusalem, the Tazpit News Agency reported.

"Our true war is aimed at the liberation of Jerusalem," proclaimed the Hamas spokesperson.

The statement came in a televised address broadcast on Al-Aqsa TV, in which Sami Abu Zuhri declared before a cheering audience that the ongoing war against Israeli civilians is aimed at "liberating Jerusalem," rather than lifting Israel's naval blockade of Gaza.

Contrary to current demands by Hamas negotiators that Israel lift the blockade imposed on the terror group in 2007 following its commencement of attacks against Israel, last week's statement suggests that any such concessions made by Israel will achieve only a temporary truce rather than a permanent resolution.

In a video of the speech posted on YouTube with English subtitles by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), Abu Zuhri announced that "the time has come for us to say, that our true war is not aimed at opening the border crossings. Our true war is aimed at the liberation of Jerusalem, Allah willing."

Continuing negotiations in Cairo between Hamas and Israel seek to achieve a cessation of rocket and mortar fire from Gaza in exchange for easing of certain restrictions imposed on the terror state, such as the naval blockade and the closure of Gaza-Egypt border crossings.

The August 17th speech by Abu Zuhri however, asserts that Hamas aims to continue its terror war until all of "Palestine" is liberated. "It is time for us to say that not only the blockade is rejected by our people," he declared in the address.

"Our people refuses to accept the continued defiling of our land by the occupier," Abu Zuhri went on to say. "Therefore, as of today, the resistance is preparing not for the opening of a border crossing here or there, but rather for the liberation of our Palestinian land," said Zuhri, referring to all of Israel. "This is the truth that Netanyahu should understand," he concluded.

(Scroll down for video) A woman admitted that she killed her husband in his sleep 40 years ago.

Justice was served as a judge in Wyoming, sentenced the 75-year-old woman of Missouri, to life in prison for killing her third husband when he was just 25 years old.

Alice Uden admitted to killing her husband with a rifle in the 1970s. She then threw his body into an abandoned gold mine.

For 40 years the family of Ronald Holtz, had no idea what happened to him and were left grieving without getting closure about his mysterious disappearance.

One year ago, his body was found, and Uden was subsequently arrested nearly 40 years after the crime took place.

Defendant Alice sat quietly in her wheelchair before speaking at the hearing. Uden sobbed as she addressed the court about the death of her third husband, Holtz.

“I have tried to atone for this,” Uden said. “I wish I've never met him so none of this would have happened. He was a very scary man.”

The jury did not believe her argument that she killed her husband in self-defense, and she was found guilty of murder.

The son of Uden, Todd Scott, testified that his mother told him decades ago that she shot Holtz as he slept. Previous attempts to find his remains failed as the mine was filled with corpses of cattle and other farm animals.

Last summer, authorities dug a deeper and wide hole, and finally found his remains.

Defense attorney Donald Miller, asked the judge to sentence Uden to probation because her grown daughter has cancer and she has been given only six months to live.

However, the judge sentenced her to life in prison.

Interestingly enough, the woman’s fourth and current husband, 72-year-old Gerald Uden, pleaded guilty in November to three counts of first-degree murder for shooting his former wife and two children in Wyoming, in 1980.

He killed his former wife, 32-year-old Virginia Uden, and her two sons, Richard Uden, 11, and Reagan Uden. He was also sentenced to life in prison.

(Scroll down for video) People are outraged after a teacher was sentenced to only three days jail for raping boys.

The 30-year-old female teacher of Ohio, pleaded guilty to two counts of endangering a child after she admitted to having sex with two boys.

Jessica Hachat, a licensed teacher, met the boys while working for a summer lunch program. The boys, who are both 17 years old, are children with special needs.

Hachat was facing a sentence of 180 days in jail for raping the two boys, but instead, she was sentenced to only three days jail in Lancaster.

Some people feel that this light sentence came as a favor to her stepfather, who is a local sheriff. However, the sheriff claimed that he did not get involved in the case.

He said that since the special needs teens admitted to the sex being consensual it would have been hard for a jury to convict her.

In court, Hatchet made a tearful apology for having sex with the boys saying: “I made a terrible mistake. It was a decision that does not at all align with my character. I am very sorry about it.”

However, the mother of one victim was not impressed and called her “a sorry excuse for a mother, a sorry excuse for a woman and a sorry excuse for human being.”

She also referred to the 30-year-old teacher as a predator. “A predator is a person who ruthlessly exploits others, and I believe that label undoubtedly describes Jessica Hachat.”

The victim's mother also explained how her special needs child became a victim of the woman’s desire for sex. “It is absolutely heartbreaking that you took advantage of his innocence and his condition,” she said in court.

Hachat was ordered to surrender her teaching license before she began her three day jail sentence.

Female judge tells women that rapes will only decline when they stop getting drunk

Drunk women illustration
By: Sanvi Rizvi

A female judge of the United Kingdom, told women that in order to stop rapes they should refrain from drinking alcohol.

66-year-old Judge Mary Jane Mowat, worked at Oxford until her retirement earlier this month.

In her jurisdiction, only 24 percent of rape prosecutions resulted in convictions, while the national conviction rate for rape in England, is 60 percent.

"It's an inevitable fact that it is the word of one person against another, and the burden of proof is that you have to be sure before we convict," Mowat said.

"I will also say that the statistics for rape convictions will not improve until women stop getting drunk," she added.

"I'm not saying it's right to rape a drunk woman, and I'm not saying for a moment that it is permissible to take advantage of a drunk woman, but a jury in a position where you have a woman who claims: 'I was absolutely out of my head, I cannot really remember what I was doing, I cannot remember what I said, I cannot remember whether or not I agreed, but I know I would not have done it,’ how are they supposed to react?" she said.

Organizations for women’s rights slammed the judge’s position, calling her statement outrageous.

“Rape is 100 percent the fault of the perpetrator, and suggesting otherwise only serves to fuel myths that do nothing other than discourage women from reporting this crime, or access the help they need," one group said in a statement.
