A new vending machine that gives away soda in exchange for hugs was placed in a college.
The Coca-Cola machine that was placed at the Student Rec Centre in Canada, releases free cans of beverages after you give it a warm hug.
The consumer has to put both arms around the machine in order for it to respond. The cans carry family and friendly labels such as Mom, Dad, best friend and family.
This is not the first Coca-Cola hug vending machine. Coca-Cola has placed such a vending machine in Singapore.
The idea was part of the “Open Happiness” campaign of the company designed to target young people in a marketing gimmick based on gestures.
Students of the National University of Singapore, were surprised to find that the soft drinks giant’s machine was deployed on campus overnight.
All students had to do for a Diet Coke is give the machine a warm hug.
A man was arrested on charges of indecent exposure after being seen doing push-ups in the middle of a road without any clothes, police in Virginia said.
Arlington Police said that the incident unfolded in the 3200 block of S. 24th Street around 7:58 p.m. on Thursday.
Police officers who responded to the scene, observed the naked male doing push-ups in the middle of the street while under the influence of narcotics.
The suspect ignored numerous commands by police and began approaching officers in an aggressive manner while yelling obscenities.
Police officers fired a Taser at 31-year-old Timothy Lowe, and he was arrested. Lowe was charged with indecent exposure, disorderly conduct and obstruction of justice.
Lowe is being held in jail without bond.

44-year-old Dwight Pink Jr. said that guards have also denied him access to art books, which include nude models.
Pink said that the ban is a violation of his right to free speech and does not serve any meaningful purpose.
The State submitted its response on Monday, saying that Pink was not harmed by the ban and none of his rights were violated.
The prison prohibits any material that contains pictorial depictions of sexual activity or nudity.
A prison spokesperson said that the ban was intended to improve the work environment for prison employees, especially female employees, which could inadvertently be exposed to pornography.
Pink is serving a 56 year prison sentence after being convicted of killing 35-year-old Scott Rufin. Rufin was shot five times in the head and was stabbed with a knife in the heart.
Police order transport van to take obese man to jail after being unable to squeeze him into police car (video)
(Scroll down for video) An obese man who was placed under arrest for beating his girlfriend, did not fit into a police car, police in Florida said.
The 42-year-old woman of Deltona, told police that she was attacked by her 500-pound boyfriend after he got drunk and naked in the shower.
"He's drunk and he's just acting crazy," the woman said about 45-year-old Howard Hendrix. The incident unfolded on Sunday, at their home located in Jutland Street.
Hendrix of Apopka, was in the bathroom, freshly showered and naked when police officers arrived. He agreed with the officer's request to put his clothes on.
Later, Hendrix threw himself to the ground, forcing police officers to drag him outside. When they reached the patrol car, the officers were unable to put him into the vehicle.
A prisoner transport van was called and Hendrix was taken to the Volusia County Jail in Daytona Beach.
Hendrix is accused of attacking the woman, punching her chest, slapping her on the face and spitting in her face.
He also made a hole in a wall and destroyed a chair. Hendrix was charged with simple assault. He was also charged with criminal mischief, assault on a peace officer and resisting arrest without violence.
Young woman arrested after stealing from her dead neighbor’s home while his body was decomposing (video)
(Scroll down for video) A young woman was arrested on charges of burglary after she allegedly broke into her dead neighbor’s home while he was decomposing on the floor, police in Florida said.
St. Petersburg Police said that they arrested 26-year-old Jana Guzalak on Thursday, after being accused of stealing from her dead neighbor.
Detectives found the decomposing body of 79-year-old John Robert Hapke Jr. at the home located at 460 N. 30th Avenue. His body was so decomposed that a coroner will have to determine the cause of death.
Foul play is not suspected at this time. Police said that Guzalak, who lives two doors down, entered the home at least three times in recent weeks.
She took tools, electronics, credit cards, collector coins and cash. Police said she admitted to pawning the items and using his credit cards at a grocery store nearby.
Two dogs were arrested after they allegedly bit a young boy in the head, police in Nigeria said.
Lagos State Police said that they have detained the dogs after they attacked 4-year-old Omonigho Abraham.
A spokesperson for the police said that only a court can decide whether the two dogs will be euthanized. The dogs had been examined and found to be free of disease.
The father of the injured boy, Odiah Abraham, said that he had warned the owner about the dangers of allowing the dogs to run around the neighborhood three days before the incident.
The dogs allegedly chased a couple, but they managed to escape uninjured after running into their fenced yard and shutting the door.

However, several weeks ago, the skeleton of Alexandru Grigore Popescu, were confiscated from the Puchenii Mosneni school located in Prahova County, Romania.
Health official said that when they learned about the skeleton, they removed it from the school because of health risks.
The skeleton ended up on display after the principal, who served the school for 50 years, had outlined his desire to hang in the laboratory.
The skeleton was taken to a professional and was treated to ensure it was safe. This week, the skeleton was returned to school to the delight of the children.
The current principal said that thanks to the real skeleton, students do really well in science and medicine.

A young woman who was extremely sad because her boyfriend broke off their relationship, spent a week eating chicken at KFC.
26-year-old Tan Shen of Chengdu, China, said that she decided to get something to eat at the KFC in the train station near her home shortly after she and her boyfriend broke up.
However, she ended up staying there for a week. She said that the chicken wings helped her think, and she didn’t want to be home because there were too many memories of her boyfriend.
Shen decided to head back home after neighbors began asking about her and she was getting sick of chicken.
Workers at the KFC, said that they only realized that the woman was living there after four days. The workers decided to allow Shen to stay as she was not causing a disturbance and was paying for her meals.
A woman was raped repeatedly after she told her boyfriend that she wanted to break up with him, prosecutors in the United Kingdom said.
Now, a court has sentenced the man to 21 years in prison.
22-year-old Vaidotas Niedvaras was convicted of rape, digital penetration, false imprisonment and assault causing actual bodily harm.
The incident began when the 21-year-old victim began chatting with the defendant on a dating website.
However, later on in their relationship, she became uncomfortable because he unexpectedly showed up at her home and at work, and harassed her with text messages.
She broke things off, but agreed to let him into her home so that he can retrieve some items he left behind. Niedvaras arrived at the home in Peckham, just before midnight and made his way inside.
He tried three times to touch her wrist and when she resisted, he punched her in the face, grabbed a knife from the kitchen sink and held it to her throat, threatening to kill her if she screamed.
He forced the victim to her room, closed the door and twice raped her in an ordeal that lasted several hours. The defendant only left her home in the morning.
The victim went to work and told her colleagues what had happened. They alerted police.
A student who planned to become a lawyer, has lost it all after hitting a woman with his private parts.
The college student of the United Kingdom, slapped the woman in the face while she was sleeping.
21-year-old John Lucas Dale of England, was drunk at a party when he spotted the woman who had passed out at the home where the party was being held.
Dale pulled down his shorts before hitting the sleeping woman with his private parts.
The act of the Nottingham Trent criminology undergraduate were recorded on video by a friend. He showed it to a coworker, who called the police.
Dale of Milton, Keynes, was sentenced to nine months in prison after admitting to sexual assault.
Details of the incident came to light this week, after three senior judges of the Court of Appeals rejected his request for a lighter sentence.
Judge Alistair McCreath said that he caused the victim distress as she felt violated and was petrified that the video would go viral.

(Scroll down for video) An airplane pilot, who is a married man and father of a 10-year-old son, died after his parachute failed to open.
The jet pilot has died while flying in Taiwan, following a terrifying mid-air crash during an exercise training between three AIDC AT-3 jets.
37-year-old Lieutenant Colonel Chang Bei-yuan was the pilot on the plane, which lost its engine after another jet hit it.
The pilot was ejected from the damaged aircraft. However, he was unable to deploy his parachute before hitting the ground. Bei-yuan died on impact.
The shocking incident, which is being investigated, was recorded by bystanders who uploaded videos of different angles to YouTube.
All three jets belong to the Republic of China Air Force Academy in Kaohsiung, and were undergoing flight training when the incident happened.
A woman who pleaded with a judge not to jail her because her act of violence, saved her husband’s life.
Margaret Parsons, 48, of England, stabbed her husband Gordon four times, after drinking too much alcohol at their home in Cornwall.
Police found the 47-year-old man bleeding from knife wounds to the chest while his wife was asleep in her bedroom.
Gordon was rushed to a hospital and was treated for the stab wounds. While doctors were attending his open wounds, they noticed that he had liver damage in need of immediate care.
Margaret Parsons pleaded guilty to wounding her husband at Truro Crown Court, but asked the judge to be lenient because her actions saved her husband’s life.
Judge Christopher Harvey Clark QC rejected her request, and Margaret was sentenced to 16 months in prison.
The Parsons had been married for about four years and lived together in Launceston, but had a volatile relationship fueled by their drinking, according to court documents.

A woman managed to steal millions of dollars worth of merchandise from Sears, before being caught.
The woman of New Jersey, was arrested after being accused of stealing $3.7 million in goods from the Sears warehouse.
She then sold the merchandise for a profit through the Internet.
Kim Watson, 37, of Clementon, was charged with theft after she ran a ring that sold the goods for cash or barter, Logan Township Police said in a statement.
Watson worked as an inventory clerk at the Sears distribution center, where she fabricated orders for high end electronics and other items, and then sold the merchandise.
The retailer lost millions of dollars in the scheme that lasted for more than two years. Sears said that it lost about $2.6 million worth of goods, which had a retail value of $3.7 million.
Watson is being held in the county jail on $50,000 bond.

The woman taught the English class at Options Public Charter School in Washington D.C.
22-year-old Symone Greene was a substitute teacher when the boy in her class began flirting with her and asked for sex.
The 17-year-old boy gave his substitute teacher his phone number and she texted him. When the classroom was empty, the two went behind the teacher’s desk and she gave him oral sex.
The teen secretly recorded the act with his cell phone and later showed it to his friends. When police learned of the incident, Greene was arrested.
The 22-year-old woman was charged with first-degree sexual assault against a minor.

A man and his wife of the United Kingdom, were about to celebrate their first wedding anniversary in India, when they were found dead.
James and Alex Gaskell were found dead in their hotel room near the Taj Mahal in the city of Agra on Tuesday morning.
The couple was found laying on their bed surrounded by many drugs including anti-depressant pills along with a guide book, travel bag and cell phone.
An autopsy confirmed that they were killed by “acute respiratory distress syndrome” due to taking an excessive amount of either Diazepam or Codeine.
The two, who were due to celebrate their first wedding anniversary next month, had traveled to India more than three months ago and had spoken freely about their use of prescription drugs on social networks.
James, 28, had tweeted about the ease with which they could buy painkillers including codeine, valium and xanax without a prescription at pharmacies in India.

A man was rushed to a hospital after pushing a glass bottle into his behind because he wanted to treat his constipation, doctors in China said.
X-rays of the 60-year-old man of Zhuhai, Guangdong, clearly showed doctors the glass bottle stuck inside his backside.
The photos of his x-rays were uploaded to the Internet, and they have since gone viral.
The patient, who has not been identified, told doctors that he suffered from constipation and tried to relieve himself with the bottle.
However, the man pushed the entire bottle inside, and he was unable to remove it. Luckily, doctors were able to quickly remove the bottle from the man’s backside.
The man said that he learned from this incident to never experiment on himself.
Police officer beaten to death with iron rod after seizing bike from motorcyclist for driving at night
A police officer is dead after being beaten with an iron rod by a motorcyclist, police in Nigeria said.
The Lagos State Police said that Officer Joseph Ebosele, 35, died at a hospital as a result of being beaten with the iron rod.
The incident unfolded around 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, when Ebosele stopped Bakare Lukman, for violating a traffic law that prohibits operating a commercial motorcycle after 10:00 p.m.
Ebosele seized the bike. Lukman became furious and attacked the officer with the iron bar.
Ebosele fell to the ground, went into a coma, and was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he died of his wounds.
Lukman was arrested and charged with murder. During questioning, Lukman admitted to the allegations.
A woman who went looking for her boyfriend, ended up in a jail.
The highly intoxicated woman of Michigan, mistook the Van Buren County Jail for a bar, police said.
Authorities said that the 39-year-old woman smelled of alcohol and appeared intoxicated when she stopped in the parking lot of the jail at 2:00 a.m.
She was trying to pick up her boyfriend from a bar.
Deputy Robert Miersma spotted the drunk woman. A breath test showed that the woman’s blood alcohol content level was more than twice the legal state limit of 0.8 percent.
The woman admitted to police that she came from a local bar and thought that she had reached another bar where she was supposed to meet her boyfriend.
Instead, she found herself in handcuffs. The woman was arrested for drunk driving.
A man sustained a serious injury to the face after urinating at an ATM outside a bank, police in Nigeria said.
Ogun State Police said that 25-year-old Ogidan Bolaji, was allegedly beaten with a gun by police officer Kayode Ojo.
Bolaji was transported to a nearby hospital after suffering a deep cut on his face. The incident unfolded when Bolaji approached the ATM with his car to make a cash withdrawal after being short on cash.
A security guard however, told Bolaji that the ATM is not working and he should come back later. Bolaji went back to his car and decided to urinate on the street.
That is when Ojo slapped him in the face. When Bolaji asked what he had done wrong, Ojo pointed his gun at him. Bolaji began to run and Ojo chased after him.
When the officer caught up with Bolaji, he hit him in the face with his gun, causing the deep cut. Bolaji filed a complaint at the Sango Police Station.
However, he was told settle the matter with the police officer. The police officer claims that Bolaji and his friend were drunk and urinating on the street.

(Scroll down for video) A horse led police on a high-speed chase after it got away from its carriage, police in New York said.
The horse escaped from its owner, collided with a yellow taxi and led police on the chase before it was caught.
The 7-year-old horse ran as fast as it could, scaring passersby. Luckily, police were able to stop the horse before it hurt anyone.
Now, animal rights groups are calling for horse and carriages to be banned from Manhattan.
The video of the incident was uploaded to YouTube, by the anti-horse and carriage group and New Yorkers for Clean, Livable and Safe Streets (NYCLASS).
According to the description in the video below, the incident took place on Sunday about 8:30 a.m. on Eleventh Avenue near 37th Street.
Mayor Bill de Blasio agrees with the animal rights groups, and wants to ban carriage horses and replace them with vintage-looking electric cars.
However, Christina Hansen, a New York City carriage driver, disagrees. She said that horses belonging to the NYPD have escaped on occasions and animal rights groups have not called to ban them.
“Police horses have run off, Parks Department horses have run off and it did not make the news because they are not a political agenda,” Henses said.
