(Scroll down for video) A woman is lucky to be alive after the surface beneath her feet gave way and swallowed her.
The woman of Australia, was rescued after she was swallowed by a three-meter deep hole and plunged into the water while hanging laundry.
Christina Beaumont, 52, was helping an elderly woman with housework in Springvale, when the ground gave way beneath her around 11:30 a.m.
Paramedic Stephanie Palamberis said that at one point, the woman's head was submerged in water.
The woman said that she was hanging clothes over some grass when the ground suddenly gave way beneath her feet, and she just slid down and fell into a pool of water.
The woman who was immersed in the water, managed to get her head out, but was unable to get out of the hole because it was too deep.
After a half hour, she managed to attract the attention of neighbors, who called for help.
Firefighters were able to rescue to woman within 15 minutes of getting the call.
