SecondWife website
By: Tanya Malhotra

There are thousands of dating websites that enable consumers to search for their soul mates.

Now, a new website enables men to search for a second, third or fourth wife.

SecondWife, was launched as a matchmaking site that allows Muslim men to seek up the four wives permitted by the Koran. The founder of the website said that the site is not only for men.

Women may search SecondWife male profiles and connect with men in the hopes of becoming the second wife. Yusuf Khan, a web developer and entrepreneur, launched the site three months ago.

The site already has more than 3,000 active users. "The key to online success is to find a niche," Khan said. Aware of Islam and polygamy, he saw an opportunity and decided to go with it.

After doing research, he discovered that there is little competition for polygamous dating. The Koran allows men to marry up to four wives, provided they can support them financially and treat everyone equally.

However, less than 5 percent of Muslims practice polygamy.

A gynecologist lost his license to practice in Maine, after being caught prescribing marijuana for men, the Board of Licensure in Medicine said.

Keng-cheong Leong who was issuing medical marijuana certificates to male patients in Lewiston, surrendered his medical license to the Board of Licensure.

Several years ago, Dr. Leong’s practice was limited after he stated that he was “naive” when it came to patients requesting narcotics.

The Board had sufficient evidence from which it could conclude that he engaged in unprofessional conduct by prescribing narcotic pain medication without documenting appropriate medical histories, examinations and plans.

Earlier this year, the Board received information that Dr. Leong had been issuing medical marijuana certificates to male patients, had not been performing appropriate examinations, had not been creating appropriate medical records and had been seeing patients at marijuana dispensaries instead of an office.

At least 49 men received medical marijuana certificates.

Dr. Leong admitted that he engaged in unprofessional conduct, incompetent medical care and that he violated the terms of his previous agreement.

Dr. Leong can no longer practice medicine in Maine.

The Delta State Police said that they arrested 15 people for allegedly stealing and killing dogs in order to consume their meat.

Police launched an investigation after locals complained that their dogs are being stolen.

They took all suspects into custody, and they will appear before a magistrate's court for bail hearings.

In April, the Pacific state of Samoa, said that it is considering exporting canned dog meat as a way to deal with stray dogs. The controversial plan was proposed by the Deputy Minister of the country, Tole'afoa Apulu Fa'afisi, and received strong support from his fellow politicians.

"Instead of spending money on dogs, how about using their flesh for money?" He said. "Put them in cans and export them. Caring for other farm animals are too expensive, so maybe we can grind their meat and sell them as well?" He added.

The proposal was endorsed by the Minister of Finance, Faumuina Tiatia Liuga, who said: "there is no difference between a pig and a dog."

The opposition has rejected the plan for dog meat, saying that stray dogs should be left alone.

The police minister, Sala Fata Pinati, said that it would be "inhumane" to start shooting stray dogs without obtaining a warrant.

"We cannot just walk to the area where there are a lot of stray dogs and start shooting them," Pinati said.
