(Scroll down for video) Firefighters in Canada, were called to the scene of a fire after a hot dog stand exploded.
Two people were taken to a hospital with serious injuries after the explosion in Kamloops, British Columbia.
Firefighters at the scene said that the owner and a customer waiting for food, were injured outside a Canadian Tire in Hillside Drive.
A spokesperson for the Kamloops Fire Department, said that a passerby was thrown over four feet in the air. The incident took place around 11:00 a.m.
Staff members of the tire shop used a fire extinguisher before the arrival of first responders. Both victims were taken to a hospital.
B.C. Ambulance Service spokeswoman Preet Grewal said that the two patients were transported by ambulance to the Royal Inland Hospital with serious injuries.
Both patients are said to be in stable condition.
The explosion is believed to have been triggered inside the hot dog stand, firefighters said. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
“Gas could have built up inside the unit itself,” Kamloops Chief Fire Prevention Officer Dean Olstad said.
