Several fire crews in the Halifax, were called to put out the fire that broke out in one of their own stations on Thursday morning.

The fire broke out around 10:00 a.m. at the fire station in Harrietsfield. Twelve trucks from other fire stations were called to the scene.

Firefighters had the fire under control by 11:00 a.m. Investigators said that no one was in the building when the fire broke out.

The back of the building suffered extensive damage. The back of the fire station contains office space, training rooms, a boiler room and a kitchen.

The fire trucks at the station did not suffer any damage. An investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire.
