(Scroll down for video) A police officer in Spain, died after he was pushed in front of a speeding train.
The incident occurred after a man, who is in the country illegally, became aggressive because the officer asked him for identification.
Officer Francisco Javier Ortega was talking to a group of people on the platform of the Embajadores train station in Madrid.
He reportedly asked to see the identification documents of one of the men who is in the country illegally. One of the witnesses who was waiting for the train, recorded the confrontation with a cell phone camera.
The video has since been posted to the Internet. The video shows a minor scuffle breaking out on the platform before the suspect grabs the officer and drags him onto the tracks as the train arrives at the station.
Onlookers were heard screaming as the officer wrestled with the man in an attempt to save himself. However, both the officer and the suspect were hit by the train.
Officer Ortega was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later died of his wounds. The man who was accused of pushing the officer onto the tracks, was hospitalized and is being treated for head injuries.
The suspect was identified by El Pais as 28-year-old Yode Ali Raba from the Ivory Coast.
Raba will face murder charges over the death of Officer Ortega, if he survives and is released from the hospital.
