A police officer was arrested on charges of burglary after allegedly breaking into a woman’s home and stealing her bank account information, police in Japan said.
Saitama Police said that they arrested 34-year-old Kosuke Furuya, who is a police officer, after being caught breaking into the woman’s home on Friday.
According to the police investigation, Furuya broke into the second floor apartment belonging to the 33-year-old woman at 10:45 p.m. on Friday.
Police said that the woman, who was not home at the time, knew the police officer. Furuya left the apartment of the woman by jumping off a balcony.
A man who lived below the woman’s apartment, heard noise coming from the balcony and went outside to investigate. He saw the suspect and detained him until police officers arrived at the scene.
Police found the woman’s bank account information on the suspect.
