A police officer in the United Kingdom, was accused of taking advantage of prostitutes while on duty.

PC Darren Bromley got to know sex workers while patrolling the streets in Manchester.

An investigation began into the officer’s conduct after an officer from a different agency, saw him visiting the home of a prostitute.

Bromley, 38, is being investigated by a unit of the Greater Manchester Police, and has been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

Bromley, who is a married man, had been placed on desk duty due to the allegations, but he resigned from the police force shortly thereafter.

Police Chief Superintendent Nick Adderley said that prostitutes are vulnerable and that police will go to any lengths to hunt down any officer guilty of taking advantage of these women and get them out of the police organizations.

“Wherever possible, we will push hard for a conviction against any police officer we find being engaged in this type of activity,” he said.

Bromley is the second officer in his division to be suspended amid allegations of inappropriate sexual activity.

In August, PC Kevin Dwyer, 39, was charged with two counts of voyeurism and ten counts of outraging public decency.
