A father was arrested and charged with child abuse after his son was taken to the hospital.
The man of Klamath Falls, Oregon, was arrested after a grand jury found that there is enough evidence, pointing to the father assaulting the four-month-old boy.
22-year-old Daniel James Hicks, Jr. was indicted Monday, on two counts of second-degree assault.
The investigation began when the child was taken to a hospital two weeks ago. Detective Melvin Ray said that the baby arrived at the hospital with an injured arm.
Doctors called police after they became concerned over the type of injury, which pointed to the child being physically abused.
Further tests and x-rays showed that the child had two broken bones in his arm and two broken bones in his leg.
A subsequent investigation by police determined that Hicks caused the severe injuries to the 4-month-old baby.
Hicks was arrested and his bail was set at $100,000.
