A man was arrested on charges of theft after allegedly breaking into an impound lot and driving away with his own car, police in Pennsylvania said.
The Gloucester City Police Department said that they arrested 38-year-old Tarik A. Byrd of Powell Street, after being accused of entering a storage lot one day after police confiscated his vehicle.
According to the police investigation, Byrd jumped the fence of Dave’s Auto Repair and Towing on Route 130, where his car was stored.
Byrd took a pair of pliers from the trunk of his car and used them to cut the lock of the storage yard door. He then drove his vehicle off the lot, leaving the door open.
Police found the car parked outside a business on Charles Street, where Byrd works. Byrd of the 200 block of Powell Street, was charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief.
