A woman was arrested on charges of assault after allegedly assaulting her elderly mother with a stapler, police in Michigan said.
Washtenaw County Police said that they arrested 53-year-old Jeanine Fey of Jackson, after being accused of attacking her mother during an argument.
According to the police investigation, Fey attacked her mother with the stapler in a house located on Garfield Street. Fey was drunk and upset while visiting her mother.
The victim suffered head injuries, but she was not seriously injured. She refused treatment from paramedics. The suspect was arrested and booked into jail on charges of assault.
In December, a mother died after her son cut her stomach and removed her intestines. Robert Owen Rankin, 22, of Connecticut, was arrested after he used a fire poker, hunting knife and his bare hands to kill his mother.
Rankin was held in jail for the brutal killing of his mother, 45-year-old Margaret Rohner. Rankin allegedly cut open his mother’s abdomen and began removing her intestine, saying he was “looking for a baby.”
After killing his mother, the suspect took a shower and went to walk his dog before calling his father. On the phone, he told his father about the murder.
When he was taken into custody, Rankin told police that his mother was pretty much responsible for everything that has gone wrong in his life. Rankin is being held on $1 million bond.
