(Scroll down for video) Parents are devastated over the loss of their son who was killed by police officers in Kansas.
The family of 23-year-old John Paul Quintero who was killed by the Wichita Police on Saturday night, wants answers as to what caused the officers to kill their son.
According to his cousin: “On the night in question, my uncle called the police to my cousin’s residence to help resolve a family dispute. Upon the police’s arrival, both John and my uncle were asked to exit their SUV to be placed in handcuffs.
“The uncle complied and did as he was told. However, John was intoxicated and incapable to fully comply with the police commands.”
Police used a Taser on John, who according to the family’s 911 call was armed with a knife, but it did not work. When John finally got out of the car they shot him twice.
Police found the knife in the backseat of the SUV. A family member said that John celebrated his 23rd birthday just two days before he was killed by police.
“We called the police for help, but instead of helping us they destroyed us,” John’s cousin Alina Quintero said.
May he rest in peace.
