A property developer hired a group of thugs to harass homeowners in order to get them to move, police in China said.

The latest victim was a 60-year-old woman living with her family in Zhengzhou.

According to the police investigation, the group of over 30 men broke into the house during the night, armed with hammers, sticks and more than a dozen buckets of human waste.

They broke the windows, intimidated and threatened the family and demanded that they move immediately.

The men then emptied their buckets of human waste around the house, covering the floor, bed and kitchen with pungent manure.

When the woman tried to prevent them from destroying the home, one of the assailants covered her in human waste before fleeing from the scene.

The group of men returned the next day with more human waste. Several other homeowners filed complaints with the police, saying that they were attacked in a similar manner.

Residents suspect that a developer wants to build new buildings where these homes currently are situated and is trying to force them out of their homes.

Police launched an investigation into the incidents, but so far, no arrests have been made.
