A man was arrested on charges of burglary after allegedly breaking into the home of Miley Cyrus and stealing her personal belongings, prosecutors in Los Angeles said.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced that the Newbury Park man has pleaded not guilty to charges that he stole items from the home owned by pop star Miley Cyrus.
23-year-old Rusty Edward Sellner was charged with one felony count each of first-degree residential burglary, receiving stolen property and grand theft.
He is scheduled to return to Department 100 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Van Nuys Branch, for a preliminary hearing.
According to the police investigation, Sellner broke into the singer’s Toluca Lake house and removed a large amount of her and her brother’s personal property.
The complaint also alleges that Sellner has two prior convictions in Ventura County for burglary and evading arrest. If convicted as charged, Sellner faces a possible maximum sentence of nearly eight years in state prison.
