A man was arrested for sexually assaulting a girl on a bus.
The man who was on his way home after registering as a sex offender, fondled the 4-year-old girl on a Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) bus, in Cook County, Illinois, prosecutors said.
32-year-old Judex Colon registered as a sex offender on Tuesday morning, before he boarded the CTA bus on the North Side, according to Assistant State Attorney Sarah Karr.
When the girl and her mother boarded the bus, the girl found a seat next to Colon. During the trip, he touched the child under her clothes.
The girl told her mother about the incident when they returned home. The child was taken to a hospital for observation.
At the time of his arrest, Colon wore a shirt which read: “You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say will be misquoted and used against you.”
The sexual assault occurred around 10:00 a.m., according to police.
Several years ago, Colon was convicted of sexual assault after molesting two girls, ages 5 and 12, while working as an operator at a county fair in Indiana, Karr said. In one incident, Colon stopped the ride and inappropriately touched the children.
This week, Colon was arrested and charged with predatory criminal sexual assault.
Judge Maria Kuriakos Ciesil ordered him to be held without bail, deeming him a danger to himself and to society.
