(Scroll down for video) A dog that loves the park learned to take the bus on its own without its owner.

People and bus drivers have gotten used to the dog, which hops onto the bus and sits down near strangers, before getting off at the dog park.

The 2-year-old black Labrador, named Eclipse, lives with its owner in Seattle, Washington. The dog and its owner Jeff Young, live near a bus stop, which is about three stops from the dog park.

The two visit the park almost every day. Young said that he sometimes smokes a cigarette while waiting for the bus. However, if the bus gets to the stop before he is ready, the dog hops on by itself.

Young said that the dog sometimes gets on the bus without him if it takes him too long to finish the cigarette. He then catches up with Eclipse, at the dog park.

Other regular travelers on the route confirmed that Eclipse regularly hops on the bus alone and grabs a window seat so it can see where to get off.

People take selfies with the dog and are impressed by its independence.

A spokesperson for the Metro Transit said that the agency likes the fact that a dog appreciates public transit.

However, the spokesperson admitted that the dog would be much safer with its owner and on a leash.
