Police in New Jersey, said that the woman intentionally burned her baby on a quiet street.

Hyphernkemberly Dorvilier, 22, of Pemberton Township, is accused of burying the baby while she was still alive.

Witnesses at the scene said that the young woman poured a flammable liquid on the helpless newborn about 11:00 p.m. on Friday.

When she was questioned by a neighbor about her suspicious act, Dorvilier allegedly told him that she was burning dog waste.

However, when the neighbor went closer to the fire, he realized that a baby was in flames. Dorvilier allegedly tried to get away, but the neighbor held her down until police and firefighters arrived.

According to Joel Bewley, a spokesperson for the prosecutor’s office, the baby was alive and breathing at the time she was flown to a hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The baby was treated, but succumbed to her injuries and died two hours later.

An autopsy will be performed by the Burlington County Medical Examiner, to determine the exact cause of death.

Dorvilier is being held on $500,000 bond.
