Government officials in China, warned companies to stop producing bad quality underwear, according to a statement released by the Shanghai Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau.
About 10 percent of the underwear examined by the Bureau, failed quality tests for fiber content and pH index, which is a chemical that keeps clothing strong.
The Bureau said that Shanghai Shenyi – the company that produces the Luosimei brand, which is sold at the Shanghai Landmark Department Store – produced poor quality clothes.
A company that produces the Jingya brand, which is sold at the Changyang shops at Shanghai Auchan, was also accused of producing poor quality clothes.
The government warned producers to improve their quality or face further legal action.
