People were stunned when a woman asked a court for leniency for her husband who cheated on her with his student.

The man of England, was accused of having a long-term affair with his student. He also impregnated her.

Simon Parsons, 52, a drama teacher at Castle School in Thornbury, South Gloucestershire, first met the teenager when she was 13 years old, and began a relationship with her when she was 17 years old.

Parsons had sex with the girl at the school and at his home. He also took her on lavish weekend getaways in London.

The relationship continued for two years after she left school, despite the fact that he was a married man.

Parsons fathered a child with the student when she was in her early 20s. The matter only came to light after the woman ended the relationship.

Parsons pleaded guilty to five counts of sexual activity with a child by a person in a position of trust at the Bristol Crown Court.

He will be sentenced on a later date.

Despite his years of cheating, his wife of 12 years stood beside him and told the court that her husband was “not a monster.”

In a statement read to the court, the woman said: “He is not a monster, he is a gentle man who has made a huge mistake.”
