(Scroll down for video) An elderly couple decided to have a baby so that they can have a male heir.

The couple of India, already have daughters and several grandchildren, but they desperately wanted a boy.

The couple said that they spent all their savings and took out a loan to pay for IVF treatment.

Omkari Singh was 70 years old when she gave birth to twins, a girl and a boy. She and her 83-year-old husband were delighted with the addition to their family.

Sadly, when the twins were 4 years old, their daughter named Barsaat died while their son, Akashvani, is in good health.

The couple admits that it is not easy for them to raise their energetic son, who is now 6 years old.

The two are also parents to two grown daughters and they have 5 grandchildren. Their oldest daughter, 56-year-old Kamala, who is a mother herself, will look after her brother when her parents are no longer around to care for him.

Omkari said that she is very happy to be a mother of a six-year-old son. “It is an unexplainable feeling,” she said.

However, she admits that she is not able to bathe him properly, and she has problems getting him dressed. “It is hard to run around and feed him,” she explained.
