An angry wife was arrested on charges of assault after assaulting a police officer in court for spending his money on prostitutes, police in Zimbabwe said.

Harare Police said that detective Mwanza Safuri, was physically assaulted by his wife, Tambisai Kaibos, in Civil Court for refusing to pay child support for his four children.

Kaibos accused her husband of spending all his money on prostitutes.

The assault took place shortly after Kaibos and Safuri had appeared before Judge Trevor Nyatsanza, who ordered the man to pay child support.

According to the police investigation, Kaibos head-butted, punched and kicked Safuri before she was restrained by court officers at the scene.

Kaibos claimed that her children were starving for food while her husband was paying to have sex with women. She said that her husband once lived with another woman for three months, while ignoring her and the children.

Kaibos asked the court to garnish Safuri‚Äôs wages. Safuri opposed the move, saying that he doesn’t earn enough money to support his children.

The two are due back in court later this month.
