The music teacher at the Sanibel School, has been suspended without pay after the questionable file was found on the computer, which he borrowed from the school.
Music teacher Joseph Angelo is accused of using the school’s computer to access adult videos, according to a 34-page report that was released on Thursday.
In the report, the district said that Angelo borrowed the school computer, and after returning it to the school, the districts IT specialist found the file of the adult video on the hard drive.
School officials tried to open the file for further investigation, but were not able to.
When confronted, Angelo told the principal the file came from a personal hard drive that he connected to the computer. According to the report, Angelo said that the file was from an old hard drive from his college days.
Angelo has been placed on leave without pay until the district’s investigation is complete.
A group of students and parents gathered outside the school to show their support for Angelo. The parents are demanding that Angelo return to school. Some even threatened to remove their children from the school if the teacher loses his job.
