Teens forced to eat human waste after being accused of practicing witchcraft

Two teens were forced to eat human waste after being accused of practicing witchcraft, police in India said.

Ganjam Police said that they arrested three men on charges of assault after allegedly forcing five people, including two teens, to eat human waste.

According to the police investigation, on Monday, a tribal court ordered to shave the heads of eight people after accusing them of practicing witchcraft.

Five of them were beaten and forced to eat human waste.

The victims were identified as 70-year-old Mohan Sahu, 48-year-old Dandapani Behera, 35-year-old Kartik Behera, 28-year-old Keuta Behera, 23-year-old Subash Behera, 20-year-old Sushma Behera, 19-year-old Jhunu Behera, and 18-year-old Amar Behera.

Police arrested Ramchandra Behera, Prashant Nayak, and Tareni Nayak, on charges of assault. Police said that they are still looking to arrest additional suspects.
