(Scroll down for video) A mother was arrested and charged with attempted murder in connection with an attack on her three young children.
The mother of three children called police at 1:00 a.m. on Sunday.
28-year-old Christina Booth of Washington, told a police dispatcher that her three children refuse to stop crying and they have injuries to their necks, police Lt. Jim Costa Olympia said.
Paramedics who arrived at the scene, found the children with life-threatening neck injuries. Olympia Police said that the mother tried to kill her 2-year-old child and 6-month-old twins.
They were taken to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital, where they underwent surgery.
The police interviewed both parents and arrested Christina on charges of three counts of attempted murder. Her husband, Thomas Booth, is an active duty soldier at nearby Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM). He was not charged with a crime.
Neighbors said that Christina was an outgoing person until her husband returned from a second deployment to Afghanistan. He returned about the time the twins were born. Then she became a bit of a recluse.
Olympia Police said they recovered the knife, which was used in the attacks.
The children are said to be recovering at the hospital, and they are now in the custody of Child Protective Services.
