A woman who was born with dwarfism, decided to make a good life for herself while making people smile.
Kat Hoffman, 26, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, was born with a form of dwarfism, leaving her 3 feet and 11 inches tall.
She said that she was bullied in school and she felt like an outcast. “People bullied me because of my size and I was angry at the world,” said Hoffman.
When Hoffman turned 18 years old, she discovered a way to use her short stature to her advantage. She became a dancer at a nightclub and she has many fans.
“During my first week of dancing, I made $1,000. That is when I decided to make a living out of it,” she said.
Now, Hoffman travels the world performing as “Kat the Midget Stripper.” She dresses in skimpy clothing, which is custom made for her by her mother.
However, her older sister Renee, who also has the same form of dwarfism, is not happy about her sister’s career choice.
“I’ve been in her shows before. People don’t respect her. They don’t go there to see her they go there to laugh at her, and that hurts,” Renee said about her sister.
Hoffman said that she does not care about the haters. Her goal is to make people smile.
Hoffman said that performing not only gave her confidence, but it also helped her find true love in the form of her 6 feet tall fiance, 34-year-old army sergeant Eich Buscher.
The two are now engaged, and Bushner said that he is ready to spend the rest of his life with Hoffman, regardless of the difficulties and criticism they might face.
Bushner said that he is not bothered by her career choice. “Whatever it takes to pay the bills. It is legal and she has fun with it,” Bushner said.
