Police are looking to arrest a teen on charges of murder after allegedly stabbing his brother because he accused him of stealing a cellphone, police in Nigeria said.

Abuja Police said that the 17-year-old boy stabbed Mohammed Abubakar, who worked as a cellphone repair person.

According to the police investigation, Abubakar complained numerous times about missing cellphones.

On Friday, Abubakar noticed that one of the phones that he was repairing went missing, and he asked his younger brother if he took or saw the phone.

The teen – who became angry at his brother for accusing him of stealing – ran to the kitchen, pulled a knife and stabbed his older brother.
He then fled from the scene.

Neighbors who heard the screams and went into the house to see what was happening, saw Abubakar laying unconscious on the floor and called for help.

Paramedics who arrived at the scene, rushed Abubakar to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Police are searching for the teen suspect.
