A diplomat of Venezuela, who was stopped on suspicion of drunk driving in Bolivia, allegedly bit off the nose of a police officer.
The diplomat however, claims that the officer beat him up and broke his jaw.
According to the police investigation, Sub-Lieutenant Franklin Mamani told investigators that the diplomat, Alexis Tabares, asserted his diplomatic immunity and bit off a piece of his nose during the traffic stop.
According to the images uploaded to the Internet, the police officer can be seen with bloody face while the diplomat was seen with a bruised jaw.
Yesterday, a senior diplomat of the United Kingdom in Bali, Indonesia, was suspended after having an affair with a drug lord who is spending time in prison.
Alys Harahap is accused of having a relationship with 43-year-old Julian Ponder, who was jailed after being caught smuggling cocaine.
