(Scroll down for video) Parents are angry after a known sex offender was allowed to eat with their young children at school.

Parents condemned the school for allowing 66-year-old Billy Gene Roberson, to have breakfast with his grandchildren at the school in Lawrence County, Tennessee.

However, the school said that they were happy with their new visitor management system called Raptor.

The system notifies school officials if the visitor has a police record. In this case, when Roberson entered the school, officials were immediately notified that he was a convicted sex offender.

“The school resource officer was immediately notified,” Lawrence County Director of Schools, Dr. Bill Heath, said.

Dr. Heath said that identifying people as they enter the building is a very positive step taken by the school and it should make parents happy to know that their children are safer.

The school district allowed Roberson, who was accused of sexual assault in 2003, to eat with his grandchildren, while a resource officer stood nearby.

Dr. Heath said that in the future, the system will also identify parents with custody issues.
