A scorned woman was arrested for stealing panties.

The woman appeared in court where she is facing charges of theft after she allegedly ordered her son to steal panties from her former husband’s new wife.

Sarudzai Mlambo, 33, is accused of asking her 11-year-old son, who lives with his father Michael Mlambo, to steal clothes while she was waiting outside their home.

Provincial Magistrate Willard Maphios Moyo remanded the woman into custody.

When asked in court why she shares the same surname as her former husband, Sarudzai said that they were still married.

Sarudzai claims that her husband chased her out of their home and threatened to kill her if she sets foot in it.

However, her husband denied the allegations.

Prosecutor Mufaro Mageza told the court that Sarudzai went to visit her son at the home of her former husband and instructed him to take shirts from his father and panties from his stepmother, which were in their master bedroom.

The matter came to light when the new wife discovered that some of her underwear went missing.

The 11-year-old boy confessed that he gave the clothes to his mother, who came to visit him during their absence.

The matter was reported to the police, leading to her arrest.
