5 construction workers were arrested on charges of rape after allegedly gang raping a teenage girl in an unfinished apartment building, police in Nigeria said.
Nasarawa State Police said that they arrested the five suspects after being accused of raping the 14-year-old girl who came to sell filtered water at the construction site.
According to the police investigation, the suspects lured the girl into the unfinished building with a promise to buy all her water, but ended up raping her.
The suspects were identified as 40-year-old Abubakar Ogachi, 37-year-old Wada Mohammed, 36-year-old Tanko Adamu, 35-year-old Yusuf Ogar, and 35-year-old Samaila Ali.
Police said that the construction workers also raped other underage girls in the area. All suspects will be brought before a magistrate’s court for bail hearings.
