A drunk man was arrested on charges of assault after allegedly biting police officers, police in Russia said.

Stavropol Police said that they arrested the 19-year-old man after he was accused of enticing his German Shepherd to attack officers.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, when police officers tried to arrest the teen on charges of public intoxication.

According to the police investigation, when the teen, who was not identified, saw the officers approaching, he enticed his dog to attack them.

Luckily, the dog refused his orders. When police placed the man into their patrol car, he shattered the rear glass and bit two officers.

The police officers were transported to a nearby hospital after suffering injuries. The teen was charged with two counts of assaulting a police officer.

He faces up to five years in prison if convicted.
