(Scroll down for video) A female teacher was arrested for raping her mentally disabled student.

Maria Contreras, 29, of New York, was arrested after a special needs boy told authorities that his teacher raped him.

Contreras, who is a married mother of two children, was a substitute at the Bronx Academy of Letters in Mott Haven.

She is accused of raping the 14-year-old boy at least 6 times. The incidents allegedly took place at the home of the teacher.

Contreras was charged with six counts of rape and two counts of criminal sexual act with a victim under the age of 15. She was released from prison after posting $25,000 bail.

She denies raping the boy. Her attorney Ruth Hamilton said that “this is the word of a special needs child with serious behavioral issues.”

“There is only his word here. There is no evidence. No emails, no texts, no Facebook posts and no messages,” Hamilton added.

Contreras has since been fired from her job.

The Department of Education released a statement saying: “These allegations are incredibly disturbing. Contreras has been removed from her position and will no longer be employed by the DOE.”
