A nursing home patient was arrested on charges of murder after allegedly killing his next door neighbor for making too much noise, police in Japan said.
Fukuoka Police said that they have arrested 75-year-old Hideo Matsubaguchi, after being accused of strangling 70-year-old Nobutake Ashimi on Sunday.
According to the police investigation, the suspect and the victim were patients at a nursing home, and their rooms were next to each other.
Matsubaguchi entered Nobutake’s room around 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, and choked him until he passed out. Nobutake was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he died on Sunday night.
According to witnesses at the scene, the two men had been having disputes for some time, because the suspect had accused the victim of making too much noise.
