A young woman was arrested on charges of assault after allegedly attacking a woman who was walking her dog, police in Massachusetts said.

Westfield Police said that they arrested 22-year-old Chelsei Smith, after being accused of attacking two people at the Powdermill Village Apartments.

According to the police investigation, around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, police received reports of a naked woman violently attacking people.

Officers who arrived at the scene, saw the suspect naked and laying in the snow. It was 26 degrees outside at the time and at least 12 inches of snow on the ground.

Smith showed classic signs of a person who had taken drugs, police said.

She suffered from numbness of the body, slurred speech, blank stares, hallucinations and inability to follow simple instructions.

Smith attacked a 47-year-old woman who was walking her dog in the neighborhood. She allegedly struck the victim and proceeded to hit her several times.

She then got on top of her and started hitting her head. Smith allegedly attacked another person who tried to help the woman.

Police said that the second victim’s shirt was torn and he had small lacerations on the neck due to the altercation. It took five officers to control Smith.

Smith was taken by ambulance to a hospital for treatment of a drug overdose.

Smith was charged in Westfield District Court, with two counts of assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
