An angry woman set her home on fire after accusing her boyfriend of smoking all her drugs.
The woman of Chicago, Illinois, pleaded guilty to setting fire to an apartment in West Suburban. She was angry with her boyfriend who smoked all her marijuana.
35-year-old Linda Lopez pleaded guilty to residential arson, according to a statement from the Riverside Police.
She was initially charged with aggravated arson, but the charge was reduced in a deal with prosecutors.
Lopez was sentenced to serve 4 years in prison, and she was ordered to pay $1,000 in restitution.
According to police, Lopez had been living in an apartment in the 2900 block of Harlem in Riverside for two weeks.
Lopez told police that she fell asleep, and when she awoke, her marijuana was gone. She accused her live-in boyfriend of smoking all of her pot. The two got into an argument, which turned violent. Lopez punched her boyfriend and threatened to stab him, police said.
Lopez then poured perfume on some towels in the hallway and set them on fire. The fire damaged the hallway, a door and a wall before the Riverside Fire Department put it out.
