(Scroll down for video) A pastor was arrested on charges of filing a false police report after making up a story about being robbed and shot by a bi-racial couple, police in Virginia said.
53-year-old Pastor George Hunley of Louisa County, who said that he was robbed and shot while trying to be a good Samaritan, has been arrested for making false statements to the police.
Hunley told police that when he stopped to help the bi-racial family, the man pulled out a gun and robbed him.
According to Hunley, he thought the family was having problems with their car as he saw the man, a woman and a child in a blue Taurus along the side of Chalk Level Road.
When he pulled over to check on them, a fight broke out between the man and Hunley, during which he was shot twice in the leg.
Police said that the whole story is a lie.
“Everything right now points to us believing that there was no armed robbery. There was no bi-racial couple, and none of that really happened,” a police spokesperson said.
Right now, police are investigating how Hunley was actually shot. Hunley was taken to the University of Virginia Medical Center for his injuries and released.
Hunley was booked into jail and released after posting $2,500 bond.
