A woman was arrested on charges of assault after allegedly spitting at a paramedic who was taking her to a hospital, police in Louisiana said.
Baton Rouge Police said that they have arrested 23-year-old Marissa Mays, after being accused of assaulting the emergency medical technician (EMT) on her way to the hospital.
According to the police investigation, the incident unfolded while Mays was being transported to the Baton Rouge General’s Mid City Facility by ambulance on Thursday, for an unknown medical emergency.
At some point during the ride, Mays began to spit in the face of the paramedic who was assisting her. The paramedic tried to place something on her face, but she bit his finger.
The paramedic was able to get away from Mays. When the ambulance arrived at the hospital, a police officer was notified.
When the officer arrived at the emergency room to speak with Mays, she was spitting and trying to bite a security guard and nurses.
Mays was arrested and booked into jail.
